After announcing this year’s list of Carbonell Award nominations last Friday, the organization quickly realized that clarifications and additions were necessary. This invariably happens with any complicated, first-time process, so the nonprofit organization ordered a recalculation of the scores in all 20 categories.
The Huntington Announces New Covid Protocols For SING STREET And Calderwood Pavilion Audiences

The Huntington announces revised COVID protocols for the new musical Sing Street and all performances at the Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA starting Friday, August 26: Face masks will be encouraged for evening performances and required for all matinee performances. The Huntington previously dropped the requiring of proof of vaccination or negative COVID test for audience members at the end of June.

The Magic Theatre has announced the cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Sam Chanse’s Monument, Or Four Sisters ( A Sloth Play). Directed by Giovanna Sardelli, Monument, Or Four Sisters (A Sloth Play) will perform from May 11 – 29, 2022* at Magic Theatre’s Fort Mason location (Fort Mason, 2 Marina Blvd., Building D, 3rd Floor, San Francisco, CA 94123).

Magic Theatre has announced the titles and dates for the Company’s upcoming in-person 2021-2022 season. Early 2022 will feature the long-delayed World Premiere of Miranda Rose Hall’s THE KIND ONES (Feb 2 – 20, 2022*), followed by the World Premiere of Sam Chanse’s MONUMENT, OR FOUR SISTERS (A SLOTH PLAY) which will perform May 11– June 5, 2022*.

For his opening salvo as Magic Theatre’s newly appointed Artistic Director, Sean San José has decided to throw a party. On Thursday, August 5th, Magic will present its 2021 gala 'The New Age of Magic' outdoors at Fort Mason. San José strongly believes theater should be for everyone, not just people of means, so Magic is hosting a more egalitarian event with ticket prices starting at a very reasonable $25. Mainly, though, the goal is to bring people together to kick back and have some fun.
