Nazareth College Students To Workshop New Musical MODERN

The Nazareth College Theatre and Dance Department will present a staged reading of the musical Modern. Written by Selda Sahin and Derek Gregor, directed by Ian Patterson, with music direction by Sarah Pool Wilhelm. The presentation will take place Saturday, February 29 at 2:00 pm in Studio Theatre A48 on the Nazareth College campus. Admission is free and open to the public.

Feinstein's Presents mostlyNEWmusicals will showcase pop sensation and Hamilton alum Ari Afsar in a concert of music from Jeannette, based on the life of America's first congresswomen Jeannette Rankin, at Feinstein's at Vitello's on Thursday, March 12 at 8:00pm. Afsar will be joined by special guests Keala Settle (The Greatest Showman), YouTube sensations Sam Tsui and Casey Breves, Jonah Platt (Wicked), and Candace Quarrels (Hamilton). Nina Kasuya and Rishikesh Menon will provide background vocals.

Your Kids, Our Kids (Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley, Founding Directors) presented the 6th Annual VOICES FOR THE VOICELESS: Stars For Foster Kids, an event that brings together the very best performers from the American stage and screen to raise awareness about the plight of kids in foster care, particularly those aged 13 and older who are in danger of aging out of the foster care system alone, last night, Thursday, February 6th at 7pm at The Town Hall (123 West 43rd Street, NYC).

SDSU Musical Theatre To Workshop MODERN A New Musical

The San Diego State University MFA Musical Theatre Program, under the supervision of Robert Meffe and Stephen Brotebeck, will present a staged reading of the musical Modern. Written by Selda Sahin and Derek Gregor, directed by Shayne Mims, with music direction by Richard Morrison. The presentation will take place Friday, January 31 at 3:30 pm in the Experimental Theatre on the SDSU campus. Admission is free and open to the public.

Producer Mark Cortale's star-studded Broadway concert series, hosted and music directed by Sirius XM radio star Seth Rudetsky, will return to San Francisco's Herbst Theatre with Keala Settle, star of the film The Greatest Showman and the Broadway hit musicals Waitress and Hands on a Hard Body, on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at 5 PM. The unique format of the series that differentiates it from any other is a seamless mix of intimate behind-the-scenes stories prompted by Rudetsky's insightful, funny and revealing questions - and the music from the artists' stellar careers. The result is spontaneous evenings of show-stopping songs and hilarity. Ms. Settle follows the recent 2020 season opener starring Jeremy Jordan. The Broadway @ The Herbst series will be raising funds this season for San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus, Project Open Hand and Sandy Hook Promise.
