Sound of Saving to Stream New 'Feedback Session' on April 3

On Friday April 3, Sounds of Saving will host its 2nd “Feedback Session.” “COVID 19: Mental Health + Music” will take place at 6pm EST via YouTube. Registration link is HERE. Musicians, mental health professionals and audiences will virtually convene to address what is on everyone's mind -- how do we keep it together in this time of so much uncertainty and concern? The event will feature solo performances by musicians Kate Davis, Raffaella and Oxymorrons, interspersed with honest conversations with the artists about their own struggles and coping with our new reality. The Feedback Session will be moderated by Robert Galligan, a psychologist based in Brooklyn, who will offer feedback and insight into mental wellness, creativity as a healing strategy and managing anxiety and emotions during the crisis and isolation.

Kate Davis Premieres 'Trophy' With Video

Kate Davis has shared a new song and video from her upcoming full-length Trophy out November 8 on Solitaire Recordings (Common Holly, Jonathan Something). Brooklyn Vegan premiered the title track today, saying 'It's an instantly satisfying song, one that should appeal to fans of Kate's jazz roots as well as fans of indie rock.' Its video follows the hypnotic performer through a talent show of her own comedic design, as she embodies more personalities — and hairstyles — than displayed to date, and offers new insight into her charming eccentricity. Davis will tour the East Coast in promotion of the indie debut, including a play in Brooklyn, NY on November 15. The full list of dates is below.

Kate Davis has shared the second offering from her upcoming album Trophy out November 8 on Solitaire Recordings (Common Holly, Jonathan Something). Consequence of Sound premiered 'Cloud' today, saying 'the track is a soft, rolling number with daydreaming guitar lines tumbling over the steady snap of a snare.' Kate elaborates, ''Cloud' is a love song written about the fleeting relationships and desires of our teen dreams. The song was tracked live at Trout Recording in BK. I do not have a creepy obsession with teens - merely a desire to relive some of my lost youth.'

PBS to Air Encore Broadcast of American Experience's STONEWALL UPRISING

When police raided the Stonewall Inn, a popular gay bar in Greenwich Village in New York City on June 28, 1969, the street erupted into violent protests that lasted for days. The Stonewall riots, as they came to be known, marked a major turning point in the modern gay civil rights movement in the United States and around the world. Scheduled in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the actual events, Kate Davis and David Heilbroner's Stonewall Uprising will have an encore broadcast on American Experience on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, 9:00-10:30 p.m. (check local listings) and available for simultaneous streaming on pbs.org.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has today announced the nominations for the 2019 Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards and British Academy Television Craft Awards. These awards reward the very best in television craft and television programmes broadcast in the UK in 2018. The Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards ceremony will be held at the Royal Festival Hall on Sunday 12 May with the British Academy Television Craft Awards taking place two weeks earlier on Sunday 28 April at The Brewery, London.
