Portland Opera has announced that renowned artists Karen Slack and Damien Geter have joined the company as Artistic Advisors. Slack and Geter will work with General Director Sue Dixon, and interim Artistic Director Daniel Biaggi, on expanded repertoire, casting, public programming, and community engagement.

Pacific Opera Project (POP) presents a watch party of their critically acclaimed production of Madama Butterfly on July 15 at 5:00 PM Los Angeles time. This is the first true-to-story bilingual production of the opera. Performed in Los Angeles' Little Tokyo and Houston's Opera in the Heights, the opera now has a new libretto written by POP Artistic Director Josh Shaw and Opera in the Heights Artistic Director Eiki Isomura.

Madison Opera's Annual Opera in the Park Goes Digital

Madison Opera's Opera in the Park will be moving on-line this summer, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the first Opera in the Park concert in 2002, it has become a Madison summer tradition, a free concert that draws over 10,000 people to Garner Park for selections from opera, Broadway, operetta, and zarzuela.
Soprano Karen Slack Sings Recitals With Pianist Reed Tetzloff

American Soprano Karen Slack joins concert pianist Reed Tetzloff for a celebration of Art Song and African American music. Performances of the new program will take place on February 18th at 7:00PM in The Revelation Gallery at St. John's in the Village in New York City, and on February 23rd at 3:00PM at Jacobs Music in Trenton, New Jersey. The program will include the art songs by Schubert, R. Strauss, Turina, Ravel, H.L. Adams, H.T. Burleigh and U.S. Moore; and spirituals arranged by M. Hogan.
