Jonathan Hollander and Battery Dance Festival will include five Denishawn dances on the Battery Dance Festival performance of August 17th.  The evening celebrates early modern dance and also includes works by Isadora Duncan and in the style of Loie Fuller.

Battery Dance will celebrates the 42nd Anniversary of its free summer festival from August 12-18, 2023, in partnership with Battery Park City Authority. Salem was originally hired in 2011 as the Company's Deputy Director for International Programs and has risen through the ranks, becoming COO and VP in 2016.

Battery Dance will present the World Premieres of three works of choreography, each inspired by the painting and legacy of Hans Hofmann. The premieres will take place at the Schimmel Center on Thursday, May 19 at 7pm and Friday, May 20 at 2pm* and 7pm.

With four virtual programs from the 39th Annual Battery Dance Festival still available for viewing before reaching their expiration date, the interview will afford a behind-the-scenes look at the organization of one of the world's largest and first online dance festivals during the pandemic. During the Festival, 52 films were screened over the course of nine days, including 28 premieres from 19 countries.
