Lauren Elder, most recently seen in the Broadway revival of SIDE SHOW, is currently recording her debut album of original music. Written by Lauren, the album is being recorded at Motel Room Studios in Long Island City, and co-produced with Bobby Cronin and Dan Crowley.

The Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF), in partnership with the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, returns to Philadelphia for a weeklong musical theater intensive, August 2-9, during which Philadelphia's most promising performers will receive unprecedented instruction from the industry's top directors, choreographers and professionals. To conclude the weeklong intensive, BDF will present GENERATION, a unique Broadway-style revue featuring performances by Broadway veterans and emerging local talent.

Elephant Run District presents BRECHT IN THE PARK, three rarely-performed short plays by Bertolt Brecht, translated by Eric Bentley: The Elephant Calf (1926), In Search of Justice (1938) and The Exception and the Rule (1929). Performances run Saturdays and Sundays, now through to July 28 at 4 p.m. (no show July 13), near the southeast corner of the Great Hill in Central Park. To shake up the usual outdoor theatre fare offered in NYC, Elephant Run District is presenting BRECHT IN THE PARK. Included in this are three rarely-performed short plays, two of which required the creation of a special contract from the publishing company Samuel French because they had never been performed in New York City. This imaginative production, directed by Aimee Todoroff, will fuse physical and political theatre, bringing these early 20th century works into the contemporary world of the Occupy Movement, Citizens United, Stop & Frisk actions and Stand Your Ground laws.
