On Sunday June 13 at 3pm, Origin Theatre Company will present the 8th annual edition of its popular immersive Bloomsday celebration, renamed the “Bloomsday Revel.” the distance-safe, in-person staging mixes a juried costume contest and dramatic readings from “Ulysses” -- performed by a cast of celebrated New York-based Irish actors.

Now in its fourteenth year, FRIGID is an open and uncensored theatre festival that gives artists an opportunity to let their ingenuity thrive in a venue that values freedom of expression and artistic determination. In true support of our Indie Theater Community, 100% of box office proceeds will go directly to the artists whose work is being presented. EAST TO EDINBURGH begins on Tuesday, July 9 for a limited engagement through Sunday, July 28. The performance schedule varies. If a contemporary Hollywood screenwriter pitched the plot of Sean O'Casey's classic 1923 drama, The Shadow of a Gunman to a movie producer ('A struggling poet gets in over his head when he allows his neighbors to believe he's an IRA gunman in order to impress an attractive young woman.') it might get sold as a wacky romantic comedy.

Irish Repertory Theatre announced today special events and programming for the month of March as part of the The Sean O'Casey Season, a comprehensive retrospective of the work of renowned Irish playwright Sean O'Casey, celebrating 30 years of Irish Repertory Theatre.

Jennifer Jewell's 'Raison d'etre: an Evening of Pirandello,' adapted from selected works by Nobel Prize Laureate for Literature and Italian dramatist, novelist, poet, and writer Luigi Pirandello runs through September 29th. Performances take place at Theatre 71 at Blessed Sacrament from September 20-23 (September 20th Opening Night) and 25-29, 2018 at 7:00pm.

Theatre for a New Audience (TFANA; Jeffrey Horowitz, Founding Artistic Director) announces the full cast and creative team for William Shakespeare's tragicomedy The Winter's Tale, directed by OBIE Award-winner Arin Arbus. The production plays March 13-April 15, 2018, at Polonsky Shakespeare Center (262 Ashland Place), TFANA's home in the Brooklyn Cultural District.

Due to popular demand, The Left Wing, in association with John Turturro, extends the world premiere production of Brandon Cole's Imperfect Love to February 25. Directed by Michael Di Jiacomo, Imperfect Love is inspired by the tumultuous life of the great Italian actress Eleonora Duse (1858-1924) and her nine-year love affair with the poet and playwright Gabriele D'Annunzio (1863-1938). The production, which is set to open on February 4, runs at The Connelly Theater and features set and costume design by the Academy Award-winning Italian designer Gianni Quaranta (Merchant-Ivory's A Room with a View). Turturro's 1998 film, Illuminata, which was co-written by Cole and Turturro, was based on Cole's Imperfect Love.

Irish Repertory Theatre announced today extensions of both of their current productions, the New York premiere of Brian Friel's THE HOME PLACE, and the world premiere of OFF THE METER, ON THE RECORD, written and performed by John McDonagh (Producer of 'Radio Free Eireann').

Directed by Charlotte Moore (Finian's Rainbow), The Home Place begins tonight, September 27, 2017, and opens on Sunday October 8, 2017 for a limited run through November 19, 2017 on the Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage at Irish Rep Theatre (132 West 22nd Street).
