Today is truly one fine day because it is the sixth anniversary of the hit musical Beautiful opening at Broadway's Stephen Sondheim Theatre! In honor of the occasion, we're looking back at the cast and creative team feeling the earth move on the show's opening night! Producers Ira Pittelman and Tom Hulce announced today that the smash hit Broadway musical Ain't Too Proud - The Life and Times of The Temptations has set a new box office record at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street). Ain't Too Proud's gross for the week ending December 8, 2019, was $1,710,207.90 in the 1,424 seat theater, the highest for any week at the Imperial Theatre. Prior to Ain't Too Proud, Billy Elliot: The Musical held the house record ($1,663,895.00) set in January 2010.

The Off-Broadway play When It Happens to You recently debuted at The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture in New York City, and was awarded with a standing ovation for good reason.

Last night, Sunday, October 13, Tawni O'Dell's new play, When It Happens to You, opened off-Broadway at The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture.

When It Happens to You, a new play by New York Times best-selling writer Tawni O'Dell (Back Roads, Angels Burning), is now playing at off-Broadway at The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture (18 Bleecker Street at the corner of Elizabeth Street, NYC) through November 10. The official opening is Sunday, October 13 at 7:30PM.

Emmy, Golden Globe and SAG award-winning actress Rachel Brosnahan will be honored by Covenant House at A Night of Broadway Stars on Monday, June 3rd at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall, Broadway at 60th Street, New York City, for her advocacy on behalf of young people facing homelessness. 

Over 800 guests gathered on May 6, 2019 at Pier Sixty in New York to celebrate Family Equality Council's 10th Annual Night at the Pier Gala. Attendees enjoyed a night of entertainment and moving stories, and raised close to $1 million for Family Equality Council's critical work on behalf of LGBTQ families.

Nowadays it's quite common for a show to have '& Friends' in it's title. I don't know if Broadway Producer and entertainer Jamie deRoy invented the concept, but over the last 30 years she sure has perfected the inclusion of having her uber talented friends perform in Jamie deRoy & friends variety shows. In fact, some folks must think '& friends' is Jamie's last name, she has an impressive contact list (remember rollodex).

Last night, Orange is the New Black's Danielle Brooks, Dascha Polanco, and Natasha Lyonne visited Ain't Too Proud on Broadway! In addition, Clive Davis was also in attendance!
