Syracuse Stage and the Syracuse University Department of Drama is now enchanting audiences with their production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. The musical is under the always superb direction of Donna Drake and musical director Brian Cimmet, the creative team that brought the last two holiday favorites to Syracuse Stage. Like their past productions, Wizard of Oz and Elf their production of Beauty and the Beast kicks off the Holiday season with magical sets, costumes, and dazzling talent.

AMC Greenlights First Episodic Anthology Series

AMC announced today that it has greenlit a new, yet-to-be-titled original episodic anthology drama created by Emmy-Award winning writer Will Bridges (“Black Mirror,” “Stranger Things”) and Brett Goldstein (“Superbob,” “Adult Life Skills”). Bridges and Goldstein will executive produce with Jolyon Symonds through Fearless Minds, a Banijay Group company ('Thorne' series for Sky One, “Complicit”). The Untitled Bridges/Goldstein Project, produced by AMC Studios, will consist of six, hour-long episodes, and is slated for a 2020 debut on AMC.

Museum of Art and Design (MOAD) at Miami Dade College (MDC) will present To Write Miami, a series of readings by Miami authors that explores the city's fascinating relationship with literature. Participating writers include Lynne Barrett, Scott P. Cunningham, John Dufresne, Patricia Engel, Fabienne Josaphat, Pedro Medina Leon, Legna Rodriguez Iglesias, Les Standiford,and Hernan Vera Álvarez. Events will take place the last Wednesday of every month from April through October, with an additional activity on May 15. The eight readings will be held at Soya e Pomodoro restaurant in Downtown Miami and they are free and open to the public.

It all starts with a waltz that goes terribly wrong. A man and woman enter, underscored by soft piano, and turn to face each other. They join together under the pool of a spotlight on an otherwise blank stage, and they dance together harmoniously-for a while. Suddenly, he misses a cue, she shoots a look, and their movements grow increasingly terse until he drops her arms and marches away, leaving her alone to sing the opening number.
