"We have seen the power of women, women who raise their voices to activate change-so it is with tremendous privilege that we honor Kate Hudson and Gabrielle Union." said Rita Wilson. "These are not women who sit on their laurels. Kate and Gabrielle are women of action and we are thrilled to recognize their meaningful contribution to changing lives and improving women's health."

Kate Hudson is an actress, entrepreneur, fashion icon and author of the New York Times bestselling Pretty Happy: Healthy Ways to Love Your Body and Pretty Fun: Celebrating and Creating a Lifetime of Traditions. Her numerous film credits also include "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days," "Fool's Gold" and "Bride Wars," which she also produced. Gabrielle Union is currently in production on Charter Communications' highly anticipated TV spinoff pilot from the BAD BOYS movie franchise in which she reprises her role as Syd Burnett. She is an executive producer on the project alongside Jessica Alba who will also play opposite her in the series. "L.A.'s Finest" is set to premiere on May 13th exclusively on Charter's Spectrum and received a 13-episode straight to series order. Additionally, Union can be seen in the BET series "Being Mary Jane" where she plays 'Mary Jane Paul' a successful talk show host. Union has earned rave reviews for her performance and received a 2014 NAACP Image Award for "Outstanding Actress in a Television Movie, Mini-Series or Dramatic Special" for the role. The final episode of the show will air on April 9, 2019. In 2017, Union added New York Times bestselling author to her credits with the release of her book We're Going To Need More Wine: Stories That Are Funny, Complicated and True. Released by Dey Street Books, the book is formatted in a series of essays and features personal stories and reflections on a range of topics that continue to define the contemporary landscape: sexuality, womanhood, friendship, race, marriage and beauty.
