The renowned London Classic Theatre have announced the full cast for their UK and Ireland tour of Mike Leigh’s classic comedy, Abigail’s Party. 

The D-Day Darlings, the UK’s premier wartime inspired singing group and Britain’s Got Talent Finalists (2018) – have announced the release of their new single ‘I Vow To Thee My Country’ which features the group’s stunning singing harmonies on April 23rd, 2023 to celebrate the King’s Coronation.  

ACT Theatre's highly anticipated original production of the international sensation Every Brilliant Thing takes the stage this spring in the round of the Allen Theatre. The play, written by Duncan Macmillan with Jonny Donahoe, is a heartwarming and hilarious look at the lengths we go to for those we love and has been playing to acclaim across the world, including a recent HBO special.  

'We are creating a delicate menagerie that we are within - this strained relationship between a mother and children, a budding relationship between a daughter and her gentleman caller. We're creating ourselves within the menagerie because we, like the glass, are very fragile,' said director David J. Valdez.

Theatres Trust, the charity that campaigns to protect the UK’s theatres, has published its annual Theatres at Risk Register, which highlights theatres across the UK under threat of closure, redevelopment or severe decay, but which all have the potential to be revived for their local communities.

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) has announced the publication of Tip of the Tongue: Reflections on Language and Meaning by Peter Brook. TCG will publish the U.S. edition of this title, which was originally published in the U.K. in 2017 by our Partner Publisher Nick Hern Books.

London Classic Theatre has announced a new UK and Ireland tour of Mike Leigh’s classic comedy Abigail’s Party. The production opens at Theatre Royal, Winchester on 1 March 2023 before touring to a further nineteen venues.

TUTA Theatre has announced that Aziza Macklin, Aileen Wen McGroddy and Jacqueline Stone will be the company’s new Co-Artistic Directors effective November 1, 2022. Together they will plan, program and lead the company’s 20th season in Chicago.

Theatre companies across the globe continue to grapple with some of the earliest questions posed upon reopening: what to do about masks? As more mixed policies come into play, we continue to see that there are segments of the audience that won’t come with masks, and segments that won’t come without, putting producers in a difficult position.

ZACH Theatre has announced Jamie Herlich Mclalwain as the new Managing Director beginning September 12, 2022. Upon moving into her new role at the ZACH Theatre, Herlich Mclalwain will be responsible for strategic planning, management and operations, finances, education, marketing and fundraising for the organization.

One of the most famous images of 20th century theatre is that of Brecht's Mother Courage who, when told she needs to remain incognito when her son is shot, offers a silent scream. In Ali Chahrour's Du Temps Où Ma Mère Racontait, now in performance at Avignon Université's Cour Minérale, Laïla Chahrour similarly unhinges her jaw into a scream, though it's anything but silent. Undergirded by musicians playing behind her, she cries into the audience, her voice rising into the starry sky. In the face of all the tragedy she has explored with her family, it is a resonating moment of catharsis.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley will present the World Premiere of Jessica Dickey’s Nan and the Lower Body, an audience favorite at TheatreWorks’ 2019 New Works Festival.
