With great sadness, we announce the loss of Edward Allan Baker, beloved father, grandfather, brother, husband, playwright, teacher, colleague, and friend.  Ed Baker passed away on Saturday evening, November 20th 2021, surrounded by love from friends and family, at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport,  CT. 

On Saturday November 20th at 7pm ET / 4pm PT The PlayGround Experiment will be hosting its third annual Faces of America Monologue Festival to help raise funds to support Native American Rights Fund. 

Almost Adults Productions ongoing LGBTQ+ Online Short Play Reading Series continues on Sunday, February 21st at 3:30 PM MT.

Casting and production team have been announced for Pride Films and Plays Chicago premiere of DEX & ABBY - a new comedy by playwright Allan Baker. Dex and Abby are dogs with unique personalities, and when their owners move in together, all four members of the family have to figure out the rules of this new territory. Funny, touching, and a heartwarming tribute to our relationship with our furry best friends, DEX & ABBY is a comic delight. Daniel Washelesky, who previously assistant directed AFTERGLOW with Pride Films and Plays, is directing. The press opening is Monday, February 24, 2020, following previews from Thursday, February 20 through Sunday, February 23.

The Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University 2019 Repertory Season opened its second week of exciting and challenging theater productions withLila on the Wall by Edward Allan Baker and Beached by Bernie DeLeo. The season features the work of the graduating MFA Acting and Directing students who collaborate on professionally produced productions presented at the ASDS Repertory Theater in downtown Manhattan.

Kiss of the Spider Woman has taken the shape of a novel, a play, a film, a musical, and is now being adapted for the stage again by José Rivera and Allan Baker. Directed by Laurie Sansom, Manuel Puig's work becomes a story of acceptance and hope.

The Menier Chocolate Factory, in association with Darren Bagert, present a new production of Manuel Puig's ground-breaking novel Kiss of the Spider Woman in a new adaptation by Jose Rivera and Allan Baker. Laurie Sansom directs this iconic play, making his Menier debut. The production opens on 21 March, with previews from 8 March, and runs until 5 May.
