Ashland New Plays Festival's 29th annual flagship Fall Festival features four new plays by Thomas Brandon, TyLie Shider, Meghan Brown, and Andrew Lee Creech. This year the festival takes place virtually with livestream readings and talkbacks October 21 through 24 at 6 pm PT each day, with an encore week of on-demand presentations available from October 26 through 31.

Red Bull Theater today announced the selections for The 2021 Short New Play Festival, their eleventh annual festival of 10-minute plays of heightened language and classic themes, featuring a World Premiere from José Rivera, alongside six brand new plays that have been selected from hundreds of open submissions from playwrights across the country.

BARD AT THE GATE - a startup play series presented by Paula Vogel, the Pulitzer Prize-winning (HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE) and Tony-nominated (INDECENT) playwright - will add a fifth play to its four-play schedule with a pre-Election Day world-premiere presentation on YouTube of Christina Anderson's play GOOD GOODS in October (date TBA).

Southwest Shakespeare Company has launched the Virtual Classics Live Series, the latest edition of which featured THE MERCHANT OF VENICE. (Showcased for live streaming on May 23rd, the program is available on the Company's Facebook page.) Featuring actors from across the country, including the celebrated Patrick Page, the reading, directed by Irwin Appel, is inspired, informative, and, as usual, provocative ~ a worthwhile opportunity to delve into one of Shakespeare's most controversial plays.

Red Bull Theater (Jesse Berger, Artistic Director | Jim Bredeson, Managing Director) today announced the cast for the next of the 2019-'20 season of REVELATION READINGS, its OBIE Award-winning series: Beaumont & Fletcher's Love Lies A-Bleeding, directed by Carl Cofield and featuring Zach Appelman, Susan Heyward, Ezra Knight, Dela Meskienyar, Howard Overshown, Bhavesh Patel, Amelia Pedlow, Cara Ricketts and more to be announced. In Hartford Stage's presentation of the world premiere of Samuel Baum's play THE ENGAGEMENT PARTY, things begin in this typical fashion, but with one unexpected event, quickly devolve into a dramatic, captivating, and revealing evening that will change the lives of those present forever.
