The Trust for Governors Island and the Friends of Governors Island will present the return of two iconic spring events to Governors Island: the annual Egg Hunt and Earth Day celebrations

The U.S. semi-professional premiere of FIRST DAUGHTER SUITE, now playing in Pleasant Grove, is currently the only production of the musical anywhere in the world. Presented by Creekside Theatre Fest in Liahona Preparatory Academy’s black box theatre, it offers profound snapshots of the lives of several first families of the U.S. from the past 50 years.

The Trust for Governors Island has announced a robust calendar of exciting and wide-ranging programs on the Island for this summer that promise to offer exciting experiences for New Yorkers of all ages and visitors from around the world. This year's programming highlights the breadth of activities, events, and cultural experiences that can be enjoyed during the warmer months on Governors Island, including live music, food trucks, and public art installations.

The Trust for Governors Island and the Friends of Governors Island today announced the Island's second annual Earth Day celebration, offering a day of free programming celebrating our shared connection with nature.

The Trust for Governors Island and the Friends of Governors Island has announced the launch of an eggs-ceptional event, the Governors Island Egg Hunt, a new springtime celebration to be held for the first time on April 8, 2023, from 10:oo a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Participants will scramble to find the 10,000 wooden painted eggs hidden in areas throughout the Island, with Island-specific prizes and giveaways for the most hard-boiled egg hunters.  

Today's episode features Caissie Levy, who is currently starring on Broadway in Caroline, or Change. '[This show] has been wonderful to be a part of. I was finishing my run as Elsa when they announced that they were bringing Sharon [D Clarke] over with Caroline, or Change. I was aware that she had done this production in the UK and I had seen a clip from their rehearsal process... but I wasn't a Caroline, or Change know-it-all,' explained Caissie.

Steve Mastroieni delivers a commanding and stirring performance as Ezra Pound in Theatre Artists Studio's compelling Season opener, POUND, directed by Carol MacLeod and co-starring Maureen Dias Watson. Runs though October 10th.

With a cast that captures the angst and humanity of David Lindsay-Abaire's characters, Theatre Artist Studio's production of RABBIT HOLE, directed by Barbara Acker, is a solemn and reverential journey into the heart of darkness and the light at the end of the mourning cave.
