The Neo-Futurist Theater has announced the return of its annual peer-to-peer fundraising campaign, TIW24: AN ALL-NIGHT, ALL-VIRTUAL FUNDRAISER FOR THE NEO-FUTURISTS (IN WHICH THE ENSEMBLE WRITES, REHEARSES AND PERFORMS 30 DIGITAL PLAYS IN 24 HOURS).

As Chicago prepares for its next phase of recovery without a firm date for resuming indoor performing arts events, The Neo-Futurist Theater has pioneered a new model of operation. Artistic Leadership Changes Hands At The Neo-Futurist Theater


Today the Neo-Futurist Theater announced that Artistic Director Kurt Chiang will step down from his role as the leader of Chicago's premiere experimental theater company to make way for new leadership in early 2020. Neo-Futurist Ensemble Member Kirsten Riiber will succeed Chiang as Artistic Director. Chiang will continue his role as a Neo-Futurist Ensemble Member.

The Neo-Futurists Launch CAN'T STOP/WON'T STOP Fundraiser


The Neo-Futurists launch Can't Stop//Won't Stop, their annual campaign supporting the Ensemble's prolific writing and programs. The summer campaign is poised to raise $24,000 and will culminate at the 7 p.m. performance of The Infinite Wrench on Sunday, August 12, featuring a series of 30 two-minute plays all written in a 24-hour period. Reservations to the event will be available to any that can raise the $150 ticket price on the peer-to-peer online fundraising platform Crowdrise; every $150 raised gives an audience member another ticket to the world-premiere-packed-event.

The Neo-Futurists are proud to announce the return of The Infinite Wrench: 30 Queer Plays in 60 Straight Minutes, playing at 5153 N. Ashland Ave., June 21 - 24, with a benefit performance for Brave Space Alliance, Thursday, June 21 at 7:30 p.m. and additional performances Friday, June 22 and Saturday, June 23 at 11:30 p.m. and Sunday, June 22 at 7 p.m.  Tickets for the benefit performance are $25.

At the 11:30 p.m. performance, the ensemble wrote and performed the 10,000th premiere in their ongoing show featuring short plays in a race against the clock.
