CUT: A BLASPHEMY – a new dark comedy by Nikki Massoud about Samson and Delilah – will debut on BARD AT THE GATE, with its premiere live stream set for Monday, March 27 at 7 pm, followed by a Talk Back with the playwright, director and actors, hosted by Nicole A. Watson, co-curator of BARD AT THE GATE and Associate Artistic Director at McCarter Theater Center. 

BARD AT THE GATE – the digital theater series created by Paula Vogel and produced in concert with McCarter Theater Center – will continue its 3rd season with the debut of TENT REVIVAL by Majkin Holmquist, streaming via Broadway on Demand on January 30th at 7 p.m.

BARD AT THE GATE will launch its 3rd season on October 19 with the premiere of Laura Schellhardt’s play SHAPESHIFTER, with an opening night pre-show Zoom party hosted by the digital theater series’ creator, Paula Vogel at 7 pm, followed by a performance of the play online starting at 7:30 pm.

Four plays by women – including a solo work written and performed by U.S. Poet Laureate Joy Harjo – will be featured in the third season of BARD AT THE GATE, the digital theater streaming series created by Paula Vogel in 2020.

Originally programmed for March 2020, Milwaukee Rep will be bringing the world premiere production Antonio’s Song / I Was Dreaming of a Son by Pulitzer Prize finalist Dael Orlandersmith and Antonio Edwards Suarez to the Stiemke Studio January 27 – March 6, 2022. 

Casting has been announced for BARD AT THE GATE’s production of Lloyd Suh’s comedy about Asian-Americans in popular culture, CHARLES FRANCIS CHAN JR.’S EXOTIC ORIENTAL MURDER MYSTERY with FREE access for 24 hours starting JANUARY 26 at 7:30 p.m., according to the series producer Rosey Strub.

Milwaukee Rep will present the world premiere of  Antonio's Song / I Was Dreaming of a Son by Pulitzer Prize finalist Dael Orlandersmith and Antonio Edwards Suarez for a limited two week run in the Stiemke Studio March 24 - April 5, 2020. Antonio's Song / I Was Dreaming Of A Son features Antonio Edwards Suarez (The Night is a Child, Milwaukee Rep) in a personal solo/movement drama that explores the sins of our fathers and mothers as well as the gifts they bestow upon us in a poetic journey that will question/challenge the legacy of stereotypes.

Milwaukee Rep has announced the complete cast and creative teams for the final productions of the 2019/20 Season including the world premiere Antonio's Song / I Was Dreaming of a Son by Pulitzer Prize finalist Dael Orlandersmith and Antonio Edwards Suarez in the Stiemke Studio March 24 - April 5, 2020; the world premiere event Hootenanny: The Musicale by celebrated musician David Lutken in the Stackner Cabaret March 27 - May 24, 2020; and the telenovela of passion and deception Destiny of Desire by Karen Zacarías in the Quadracci Powerhouse April 21 - May 17, 2020.

The Suzi Bass Awards revealed nominations for the 2017-2018 Atlanta professional theatre season on Monday evening, August 27, to patrons and industry artists. The American Theatre Wing (Heather Hitchens, President) and The Village Voice (Peter Barbey, Owner) just presented the 62nd Annual Obie Awards®. Jennifer Kidwell & Scott R. Sheppard's Underground Railroad Game, produced by Ars Nova, and J.T. Roger's Oslo, produced by Lincoln Center Theater, shared the Obie Awards for Best New American Theatre Work, which is accompanied by a $500 prize each. Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel received a special Obie Award for Lifetime Achievement. Obie and Screen Actors Guild® Award-winning actress Lea DeLaria returned as host of this year's ceremony, which was held at Webster Hall (125 East 11th Street). 

The Lortel Awards will be presented tonight, May 7, 2017 at NYU Skirball Center beginning at 7:00 PM EST. This year's event will be hosted by actor and comedian, Taran Killam, and will once again serve as a benefit for The Actors Fund.

Grounded is a co-production with Baltimore's Everyman Theatre, where it was seen last October. Grounded is the story of an ace fighter pilot who becomes pregnant and gets reassigned to operating drones from a windowless trailer on an Air Force base in the desert outside Las Vegas. Hunting terrorists by day and coming home to her family at night, the boundaries between reality and the screen - between the desert where she lives and the desert where she fights - blur until the pressure becomes impossible to bear.

The sold-out, award-winning London hit Grounded lands in Baltimore for the first time in a new production at Everyman Theatre starring City Paper's 2014 Best Actress and Everyman Resident Company Member, Megan Anderson. She's a hot-rod F16 fighter pilot. Her unexpected pregnancy ends her high-flying career over the Middle Eastern skies. She finds herself instead flying remote-controlled drones half a world away while in a comfortable trailer just outside of Vegas.
