The New York Dance and Performance Awards, the Bessies, has announced the 2023 award recipients at the 39th Bessie Awards Ceremony. The Illustrious Blacks hosted this year's celebratory event, which was held at Lincoln Center's Damrosch Park as part of Lincoln Center's Summer for the City. The program features a highly anticipated world premiere collaboration with Krump artist Brian “HallowDreamz” Henry, along with favorites such as FROM (2019), SAMA (2019), No Ordinary Love (2022), state (2018), and a new arrangement of the full evening work, FOLD HERE (2013).

GALLIM returns to The Joyce Theater after the pandemic hiatus May 31-June 4, with a program that celebrates Artistic Director and Founder Andrea Miller's history of boundary-blurring, interdisciplinary work.

GALLIM, a multi-disciplinary home for creative movement discovery, and delivery of live and digital new work, has named dance producer and champion of arts education Erin Fogarty as its new Executive Director, effective immediately.

Last night, Lincoln Center came back to life again with Dance Against Cancer, the largest ticketed dance event since venues shuttered in March of 2020 to the COVID pandemic. To date, Dance Against Cancer has raised over $2.1million dollars, and continues to honor the legacy of those who have lost their battle to cancer.

This Monday, May 4, was set to be Dance Against Cancer's 10th Anniversary Performance at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall, which has now been postponed to October due to COVID-19.

The gala benefit brings together artists from leading dance companies from New York City and beyond for a night of performances and world premieres.

The Sixth Annual Dance Against Cancer was held on Monday, April 25, 2016.  The event had over 500 guests in attendance and raised more than $250,000 for the American Cancer Society, which will fund lifesaving cancer research and support patient and family service programs like Hope Lodge New York City.

Luigi's partner Francis J. Roach pulled together an audience with a 'who's who' of Musical Theatre Performers spanning decades. The house was filled with joy and fabulous feelings for all who had the privilege to experience this great Master of Jazz Dance. This particular evening was also filled with fresh young talent that will forever help to carry the torch paying forward the Luigi Jazz Dance technique.

The 5th Annual Dance Against Cancer was held on Monday, April 27, 2015.  The event had over 500 guests attend and raised more than $243,000 for the American Cancer Society that will benefit research initiatives and patient and family service programs.

Producers Erin Fogarty and Daniel Ulbricht have partnered with the American Cancer Society to present the 5th annual Dance Against Cancer on Monday, April 27, 2015 at the AXA Equitable Theater, 787 Seventh Avenue (between 51st and 52nd Streets). VIP guests will enjoy cocktails and passed hors d'oeuvres at 6pm, followed by world premiere dance performances at 7pm from companies including New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Gallim Dance, members of NYC's Broadway community and more. Tickets are $150 for General Admission, $300 for VIP and $500 for Preferred VIP with dress rehearsal access and are available at dacny.org. All proceeds from this event will benefit research initiatives as well as all patient and family service programs that American Cancer Society funds. Since its inauguration, Dance Against Cancer has raised over $325,000 in support of the American Cancer Society.
