Palm Beach Dramaworks is thrilled to announce that earlier today we completed the purchase of our theatre and took ownership - almost a year ahead of schedule! The early closing was made possible thanks to our naming donors, Don & Ann Brown, who very generously offered to pay the remainder of their Capital Campaign pledge earlier than anticipated. The West Palm Beach City Commissioners, sitting as the CRA Board, approved the agreement on Monday, March 2, and a signing ceremony took place at the theatre at 9 a.m. today.

"We are overjoyed to be able to say that we now own the Don & Ann Brown Theatre outright," said Managing Director Sue Ellen Beryl. "Ownership of the building solidifies our future and underscores our commitment to downtown West Palm Beach. We aim to be a destination not just for South Florida residents but for theatergoers everywhere, because we firmly believe that the arts enrich lives and enhance communities.

"We want to extend our thanks to the City Commission, and to the State Legislature for their cultural facilities grant. And, of course, a special, heartfelt thanks to our friends and patrons, Don and Ann Brown, who have made our fifteenth anniversary season even more special."

Palm Beach Dramaworks is a non-profit, professional theatre and is a member of the Theatre Communications Group, the South Florida Theatre League, Florida Professional Theatres Association, and the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County.
