Due to popular demand, Florida Studio Theatre announces the extension of its third Summer Mainstage show, The God of Isaac. The production is now extended through August 28, 2016 in the Gompertz Theatre. Single tickets range from $36-$39. Tickets may be purchased online at FloridaStudioTheatre.org, by phone at (941) 366-9000, or by visiting the Box Office.

The critics have raved over James Sherman's production. The Sarasota Herald-Tribune says the show is "Funny and provocative." Sarasota Magazine calls it "Touching" and "Engaging." The Observer also weighs in describing it as "A spoonful of comedy sugar" that "Gets the audience howling." Audiences agree saying, "Just superb," "Highly enjoyed it," and "Wonderful."

This extension allows extra opportunity not only for audiences to see the production, but also the chance for the actors to connect even deeper with their characters and their audiences. Cast member Sid Solomon continues to discover an even deeper understanding of the charmingly curious Isaac Adams. "Playing Isaac has been a pleasure," said Solomon. "Each night we have the chance to bring an audience along for Isaac's journey, and no two audiences ever respond the same way. It's an honor to tell Isaac's story - so beautifully crafted by James Sherman. I've gotten to know Isaac more and more, performing 8 times a week for the audiences here in Sarasota. I'm thrilled that we'll now be running through the end of August. I've felt so welcome here at Florida Studio Theatre, and embraced by the audiences that have come to see our show, I can't imagine a better way to spend the summer."

Playing the loud and lovable Jewish mother of Isaac Adams is Marina Re. Re comments on her experience during this run on the Gompertz stage. "In my long career, I have played mothers of every variety, especially here at FST," said Re. "I have been Cuban, Puerto Rican, and Italian. But to me, the opportunity of playing the iconic Jewish mother is a thrill. She is indeed unique, but the beauty of Mom is she is so universal; Her love for her son, her support of him in his journey, and her ability to nurture him at all points of his life - especially now as he sets off on a quest to understand the meaning of his heritage."

This journey of discovery continues through August 28 in the Gompertz theatre. Tickets can be purchased over the phone at 941-366-9000, by going online at floridastudiotheatre.org, or by visiting our Box Office.
