Award-Winning High School Duo Debut Cabaret at Winter Park Playhouse Next Month

The Winter Park Playhouse Spotlight Cabaret Series will feature two of the area's brightest performing stars of tomorrow! Jasmine Forsberg and Tony Moreno command the cabaret stage as they perform a new cabaret Rising Stars: Broadway Bound which will showcase the two graduating High School seniors performing a host of Broadway tunes and standards. Christopher Leavy Playhouse Musical Director will accompany on piano.

Jasmine Forsberg has been performing for most of her young life. Her musical theatre credits include many productions at The Orlando Repertory Theatre - Orphie and the Book of Heroes, A Diary of a Worm, and A Spider and a Fly to name a few. She has been a Working Theatre professional at The Winter Park Playhouse both on the mainstage, Ruthless the Musical, Celebrate Me Home and The Fantasticks and as a member of the theatre's performance outreach troupe(R.E.A.C.H.) that serves needs based children in Title l schools with performances of Schoolhouse Rock Live Jr. Jasmine's most recent performance as Ti Moune in Once This Island at Timber Creek High School won her an Applause Award from The Dr. Phillips Center For Performing Arts. Jasmine will be attending Penn State in the Fall.

Tony Moreno is a recent graduate of Trinity Preparatory School where he was Vice President of Thespian Troupe 1780 and an active member in the Drama Department. Some of his favorite roles at school include Don Quixote in Man of La Mancha, Jesus in Godspell, Jamie in The Last Five Years, Gomez in The Addams Family, and The Baker in Into The Woods. Tony' s role as Jamie in The Last Five Years earned him a National High School Theatre "Jimmy" Award nomination last summer where he traveled to New York City and made his Broadway debut. Tony's work in the Orlando theatre scene includes TheatreWorks Florida's production of Sweeney Todd at the Garden Theatre alongside his teacher and mentor Janine Papin.Tony is also a proud member of The Winter Park Playhouse R.E.A.C.H. program performance troupe. His extensive voice over credits include projects for Disney Parks, ESL Textbooks, Macy's, Gaylord Palms and Florida Hospital. Tony will be attending The University of Arizona in the Fall.

"Jasmine and Tony are two of our incredible young professional performers and we are thrilled to feature them at The Playhouse before they head off to college. This cabaret is one you won't want to miss as they are Broadway bound!" confirms Heather Alexander, Playhouse Executive Director.

General admission tickets are $20 plus a one drink minimum. Once sold out, a limited number of "Standing Room Only" tickets" are available for $10. Seating is limited so advance reservations are strongly recommended. Doors open at 6:30p.m. for a 7:30p.m. show.
