WANTED: Scripts, Actors, Producers, and AUDIENCE. If it's Off-Off Broadway, it's John Chatterton!

Prolific producer John Chatterton has been a fixture of the Manhattan theatre scene for nearly two decades. The Midtown International Theatre Festival is a leader in presenting powerful works from around the world - and one of the best reasons to come to New York in the summer. The Midwinter Madness Short Play Festival gives eager audiences a glimpse of new and engaging works of 30 - 60 minutes; and the monthly Short Plays Lab is a joyous incubator of 10-minute stage pieces on their way to becoming great stage works.

FROM PAGE TO STAGE, the next Short Play Lab event, is Saturday, November 23 and Sunday, November 24 at Roy Arias Studios Theatre II, 300 W. 43rd St. 4th fl., New York City, and features an enigmatic group of brief, cutting-edge tales:

Program A (Sat. Nov. 23, 7 pm; Sun. Nov. 24, 4 pm)

PLANS written & directed by Michael Freeman. A minimalist play about relationships, how to get out of them, and how to never really get out.

HAGIOGRAPHY OF SCOOTER COLLINS by Aja Houston. Deceased rockstar Albert Scooter Collins's wife, spiritual advisor, and PR agent battle over who gets to pen his tribute.

I READ YOUR FACEBOOK POST written & directed by Arthur W. French III. A person takes reading Facebook posts to the 8th power.

LEGS written & directed by Kerri Quinn. Two sisters' relationship is strained as they struggle with the truth about their deceased mother.

K K K KATY by Marjorie Conn, directed by John Buckingham. A love letter from Miriam to Katy being written on the first night of Chanukah.

THE (UN)SISTERHOOD written & directed by Katie Mack & Okema T. Moore. The story of five women that you all know, in a way that you've never seen

THE PARK by Mariel Reyes, directed by Marcus Lee. It's a laid-back summer afternoon in Washington Square Park--a free spirited but slightly cynical woman is approached by a rugged-looking but friendly man who is clearly "not her type". Or is he?

'SUP LORD? by Fernando Mañon, directed by Robert Wright. Even in Heaven a man can't enjoy a nice cigar and his favorite baseball team.

TOUGH GUYS DON'T SEW by Vincent Amelio, directed by Kathleen Bishop. After red wine is spilled on her wedding dress the night before her wedding, socialite Brooke Sinclair finds herself in the fitting room at the Vera Wang Bridal House minutes before closing, seeking fashion advice from the UPS delivery man.

THE COURTSHIP OF Q AND U by John Dirrigl.

Program B (Sat. Nov. 23, 9 pm; Sun. Nov. 24, 2 pm)

NIGHT OF THE CREEPS by Lavinia Roberts, directed by Walid Chaya. Two conceptual artists rehearse a performance-art piece and reflect on the nature of consumerism.

THE EFFEMINATE HETEROSEXUAL by Steve Gold, directed by Christen Callahan. And you thought YOU were messed up!

CATFISHED! written & directed by Tracey A Phalen. Once upon a time -- not that long ago -- the only ways to keep tabs on an ex was to make a prank phone call or two, or drive by their house hopefully unnoticed ... but now there's the Internet....

THAT AFTERNOON AT Frank CampBELL'S by Jean Bergantini Grillo, directed by Michael Ferreira. Artist's wife hosts a bizarre wake for an unsuspecting friend.

NO, MY HEART: A VERY BAD PLAY WITH NO REDEEMING SOCIETAL VALUE by Stephen Mrowiec, directed by Charles Giardina. Their love belonged to the ages. And the ages belonged to their love.

LOVE/DRUG written & directed by Chelsea Radigan. Dire results await Mariana in Mexico if she can't get a husband and green card in 3 days

CASEY & ADAM by Maggie Rose, directed by Jesse-Kane Hartnett. A midnight Internet bender puts Casey & Adam's relationship to the test.

THE PROSPECTIVE VALET written & directed by Roderic Wachovsky. A boy's best friend is his valet.

MEET-CUTE written & directed by Luke Younger. A charming grocery-store romance that will make you laugh and cry, minus the crying part.

The year-ending Short Play Lab is set for December 21 - 22. There are still slots available there for new works to be seen.

Scripts are also now being accepted for the Midwinter Madness Short Play Festival, set for Roy Arias Studios Theatre II and Theatre IV, Monday, February 10 - Sunday, March 2, 2014. What makes the Midwinter Madness Fest so special this year is the new CHILDREN'S THEATRE DIVISION.

Special time slots - weekend mornings and daytime on Thursdays and Fridays - will be available for works suitable for young audiences. John Chatterton has always looked for education opportunities, so a children's theatre festival is something very special - and long-awaited.
