Charles, a disgraced New York Times journalist, arrives in Rwanda for an exclusive interview with two Hutu nuns. Charged with homicide, the nuns must convince the world of their innocence during the 1994 genocide or face a lifetime in prison. When an unknown survivor contradicts their story, Charles must choose which version of the truth to tell the world. SENSE OF AN ENDING shines a light on questions of faith and responsibility in the face of violence.

Marking the 21st anniversary of the Rwandan genocide, SENSE OF AN ENDING was hailed as "an extraordinarily powerful piece of theatre that approaches this most difficult of subject matter with confidence, intelligence and a surfeit of humanity" (London City Nights) in its UK premiere in the spring. Time Out London said the play was "so intense that, in between each scene, you can hear the audience gulp for air."

kef theatrical productions returns to 59E59 after their critically acclaimed production of Ken Urban's The Awake, also directed by Adam Fitzgerald, in 2013.

The cast of SENSE OF AN ENDING features Danyon Davis (Henry V at The Public Theater), Hubert Point-Du Jour (Angels in America at Signature Theatre Company), and Heather Alicia Simms (Ma Rainey's Black Bottom on Broadway).

The design team includes David L. Arsenault (scenic design); Travis McHale (lighting design); and Christian Frederickson (sound design).
