Rising Sun Performance Company's HOTEL SUITE Resumes Performances, 11/1

Rising Sun Performance Company (Akia, Founding Artistic Director) announced today that Hotel Suite, its three-week site specific group of plays set in a real Upper West Side hotel room, will resume performances Thursday, November 1st with Room 128, a collection of six short plays, at 8:00 pm at Hostelling International (891 Amsterdam Avenue at 103rd Street). Due to Hurricane Sandy, Hotel Suite, which began performances October 11th, has been dark since Sunday, October 28th.

Hotel Suite also includes Sam Shepard’s Fool for Love, which will next perform Friday, November 2nd at 8:00 pm and Tracy Letts’ Bug, which Show Business Magazine hailed “an experience that envelops all your senses”, will next be on Saturday, November 3rd at 8:00 pm. Hotel Suite is currently Rischeduled to close on November 3rd.

Founded in September of 2001, RISING SUN PERFORAMNCE COMPANY (RSP) is an Off-Off Broadway theatre company dedicated to producing ensemble-based work. It is run by artists for artists to allow them to create their own opportunities instead of their opportunities creating them. RSP is the full time artistic home for a wide range of theatre artists, including actors, writers, directors, designers, singers, and dancers. 2012 marks the beginning of RSP’s 11th producing season, culminating in 35 plus productions and events. This includes the development of twelve world debut plays, over 30 One Act Plays as part our annual series, the launch of an on-going musical cabaret series, free outdoor performances, children's theatre, immersive themed theatrical experiences and its trademark revivals, including sold out critically acclaimed hits: The Shape of Things, An Adult Evening of Shel Silverstein, Hellcab and most recently The Last Supper.
