Dialogue with Three Chords(D3C) and BrooklynONE(bkONE) Productions team to present "The Krampus" from playwright and D3C co-founder Stephen Gracia as part of bkONE's 'Holiday Weekend Experience' series of programming. The original play, directed by D3C co-founder Michael LoPorto, shows the largely unknown side of the Santa Claus mythos. A group of friends bond at a bar on Christmas Eve and exchange stories of their childhood fears of "The Krampus," a real figure from Norse mythology who functioned as an evil-twin to the benevolent Saint Nicholas. The darkly funny show also features original music in the form of bawdy holiday carols. The show runs for three performances: tonight, December 13 at 8:30pm and Saturday & Sunday, December 14 and 15 at 8pm at bkONE's home at St. John's, 461 99th Street in Brooklyn, NY. Admission is $5 and if you bring a new, unwrapped toy with you to donate to Toys for Tots you'll receive a gift from the playwright. Tickets are available at the venue, or by visiting: http://krampus.brownpapertickets.com/

"The Krampus" revolves around a group of friends spending Christmas Eve at a bar in Brooklyn, singing songs, cracking jokes, and telling stories-- some heartfelt, some heartbreaking, and some are simply filthy. "The Krampus' is a play about families of chance, families of choice, childhood monsters, and the joy of new traditions," says Gracia. BkONE co-founder Anthony Marino was only too happy to host the play. "As fans of the Krampus mythology, it seemed a perfect fit when D3C playwright Stephen Gracia pitched doing a piece that explores the darker side of Christmas," explains Marino. "As always we are proud to offer such a diverse selection of arts in the growing Bay Ridge Cultural District bkONE is helping to foster."
