On Tuesday, December 14, The Red & White Party 2010 (presented by Performance Space 122, Flavorpill, and FAB, in association with DSG Entertainment Group & Carleigh Welsh Projects) invades (Le) Poisson Rouge, New York's multimedia art cabaret located at 158 Bleecker Street. This year, live bands and DJs will simultaneously rock both spaces at LPR beginning at 8pm and will keep the party going all night long. This notorious party and its signature cross-section of subversive and seductive underground sounds, costume, culture, and International Artists have been pollinating tastes and tongues from all walks of NYC nightlife for six years now.

The Red and White Party 2010 will feature talented music personas such as powerhouse Roxy Cottontail who has worked internationally with renowned DJs including DJ AM, Armand van Helden, Steve Aoki, and Afrika Bambaataa. Joining her will be Brooklyn pop duo Hank & Cupcakes, sharing their "funky indie pop with impressively sturdy hooks" as described by Time Out New York. Chamberpop and dreamscape group Caveman will also take the stage and later on deck, the formidable Michael Magnan makes a coveted appearance and is followed by the relentlessly infectious Die J! Mars whose singular goal is to make you "dance 'til you die."
Meanwhile in the lounge of (Le) Poisson Rouge, Jomai Etu, creator of "house dat!" and pillar of "sugar" anchors the room, every now and again giving way to pop-up performances by art stars like Brandon Olson and Epiphany. Later, Brazilian DJ Maga Bo brings his style, a hybrid mix of DJ set and live PA where he mixes diverse sounds culled from pirate cassettes from around the world, MP3s, unreleased mixes, and exclusive tracks. Ending the evening in the lounge will be longstanding PS122 hero Joro-Boro who will unleash his inimitable etnoteck, folk-glitch and post-national bass.

The Red and White Party 2010 is sure to be an evening of downtown holiday revelry where dancing and drinking will reign supreme and that party goers will still be talking about well into the new year.

Hank & Cupcakes "Brooklyn duo Hank & Cupcakes pumps out tight, funky indie pop with impressively sturdy hooks."-Time Out New York // "Hank & Cupcakes manage to create fun, vibrant music that makes just about everyone want to dance..." - The Aquarian // "Their raw energy and genuine spontaneity translate powerfully on stage with intimate, authentic performances. It's not uncommon to see vocalist/percussionist Cupcakes standing on her drum set while her male counterpart Hank kneels down and conjures up intricate, Beatles/Zeppelin-inspired jams on the bass." - BRM www.hankandcupcakes.com // www.myspace.com/hankandcupcakes

Die J! Mars wields a panoramic style - he can play anything - but given the choice, he gravitates toward funky dark progressive dance music from both Germany and Detroit, working the crowd into a fun exhausting sweat every time. "Being a 'Die J!' is about spinning killer beats. I try not to be pigeonholed. I want you to dance so much you die."- Die J! Mars www.diejmars.com

Caveman's epic, contagious sound is equal parts chamber pop, dreamscape, and horror film score--four-part harmonies floating atop a sea of tireless percussion. Since forming in January, Caveman has shared the stage with Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes, White Rabbits, Here We Go Magic, Cursive, and Amazing Baby. http://www.myspace.com/thiscaveman

Jomai Etu (formerly known as both dj princess petite and the blakk room baby) now resides in brooklyn, playing for the Philadelphia Experiment, A Cavallo, Kostume Kult and others, appearing regularly in Burning Man, Philly and New York City. He is currently in production for three albums, Kosmoniq's Then I Woke Up on This Satellite..., House Fantasy (under his own name) and a new album for the gay funk/soul sensation Supahero GoGo Star. http://www.thetribeofmagic.com / http://www.kosmoniq.com/

Joro-Boro, the former resident of the legendary Mehanata Bulgarian Bar in New York, plays and promotes etnoteck - the dirty and uninhibited side of globalization as a forced feed back into a party without borders, a three-day Balkan wedding in a post-national state where noise, bass and desire detonate the conglomerate monoculture. He is a monthly host of MoGlo (Modern Global) on Radio New York, has toured with Balkan Beat Box, and has performed with artists ranging from Bassnectar to Tinariwen. Joro-Boro is not an artist / charlatan / mythologist. Joro De Boro could be just the opposite.

Maga Bo is a producer/DJ based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. His work spans the breadth of international urban bass music from hip hop and kwaito to baile funk and jungle ragga to dub, grime and dubstep with _ares of samba, rai, bhangra, cumbia, skewed electronic beats and loudspeaker jitter. His live performances are a hybrid mix of DJ set and live PA where he mixes diverse sounds culled from pirate

cassettes bought on the street in various parts of the world, MP3s from the internet, obscure vinyl found in underground shops, original beats, unreleased remixes and exclusive tracks. Divergent sources are combined and mixed live in a dubwise fashion with a DJ's feel for the dance _oor and the hip hop mentality of creating by re-contextualizing.
