Circle in the Square Theatre School (CITSTS) with the team of Joziah Longo, Michael Milligan and Theodore Mann have created a new musical based on the children's classic Aesop's Fables. The following of Aesop's timeless tales will be included in the production: "The Boy Who Cried Wolf," "The Hare and the Tortoise," "The Fox and the Crow" and "The Lion and the Mouse."

Joziah Longo (music & lyrics) and his band, Gandalf Murphy and the Slambovian Circus of Dreams are well-known throughout the United States and recently performed in Scotland and England to sold-out houses. Michael Milligan (book) is an actor who has appeared on Broadway (August: Osage County) and off-Broadway (Thom Pain), as well as with the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, D.C. Theodore Mann (director, The Glass Menagerie; A Moon for the Misbegotten; etc.) is co-founder and artistic director of both the Circle in the Square Theatre and CITSTS, along with Paul Libin (CITSTS: President; Jujamcyn Theaters: Producing Director, Vice-President). Mr. Mann and Mr. Libin have produced more than 150 plays on and off-Broadway, as well as having reopened the Ford?s Theatre in Washington, D.C.

CITSTS was founded in 1963 and is a two-year acting and music program attended by college and university graduates from around the United States and the world. Among its alumni are Philip Seymour Hoffman, Kevin Bacon, Idina Menzel, Benicio Del Toro and Kristen Johnson. Each year the School performs three folk tales for third and fourth graders. This season it has presented Cinderellaand Little Red Riding Hood, followed by this new musical of Aesop's Fables.

Aesop's Fables will be performed Saturday, March 20 and Sunday, March 21 at 10:00 a.m. Admission is adults $10 and children $5. Performances are at Circle in the Square Theatre on 50th Street and Broadway. Circlesquare.org/arts.htm. For reservations call 212-307-0388.
