Steven Masi To Perform Beethoven’s 32 Piano Sonatas

The JCC Thurnauer School of Music, New Jersey's leading community music school, named a Major Arts Institution by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, has announced Steven Masi Performs Beethoven's 32 Piano Sonatas, a nine-part concert series presented over three seasons (three concerts per season) from 2011 to 2014. The series will be presented in collaboration with Forte Piano of Paramus and the Puffin Foundation.

The first concert will take place at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades' Eric Brown Theater (411 East Clinton Avenue) Sunday, October 30, 2011 at 3 p.m. Mr. Masi will continue the series Sunday, January 7, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. at Forte Piano (385 Route 17 South, Paramus) and Saturday, April 22, 2012 at 3 p.m. at the Puffin Foundation (20 Puffin Way, Teaneck). Admission for all concerts in the series is $10 per person. Repertoire for each performance is listed below.

Steven Masi has performed as a soloist with orchestras in both the United States and abroad, including the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, American Symphony Orchestra, New Symphony of London, and the Southwest German Radio Orchestra. He was a first prize winner in the Atlanta Symphony Competition, and a prize winner in the WQXR and Busoni competitions. Concert tours have taken him throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia. Mr. Masi has been a guest artist at the Casals, Aspen, Park City (Utah), Central Vermont, and Chautauqua festivals; the Detroit Bach Festival; Bonn (Germany) Summer Festival; and the Music Festival of the Hamptons. A master's a bachelor's degree recipient from The Juilliard School, Masi is a former member of the Odyssey Chamber Players and Bonn Chamber Music Society, and has recorded for the Aulos, Southwest German Radio, West German Radio, and RAI (Italy) labels.

About the JCC Thurnauer School of Music

The JCC Thurnauer School of Music, New Jersey's leading community music school, has been designated a Major Arts Institution by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. Open to everyone with a desire to learn music, it offers a comprehensive program of private lessons for students of all ages on every instrument and voice, plus musicianship classes and orchestral, choral, jazz, and chamber ensembles.
