Broadway legend and Tony winner Patti LuPone will bring her triumphant one-woman Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda to McCarter Theatre on Saturday, May 8. The evening is a high-spirited tour of songs and roles that she "could have played, should have played, did play and will play" with selections from Hair, Bye Bye Birdie, Funny Girl, West Side Story, Peter Pan, Evita, Anything Goes, and more.

Patti LuPone swept the 2008 theatre awards winning the Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for powerhouse performance as Mama Rose in the historic Broadway revival of Gypsy, directed by the show's author, Arthur Laurents.

Ms. LuPone won her first Tony Award in 1980 for her performance in the title role of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Evita. Since then she has been a mainstay on the Broadway stage, starring in such iconic roles as Nancy in Oliver!, Mrs. Lovett in John Doyle's acclaimed production of Sweeney Todd (Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle nominations; Drama League for Outstanding Contributions to the Musical Theatre); Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes (Drama Desk Award; Tony nomination), and Maria Callas in Terrence McNally's Master Class. She made an equally impressive mark on the London stage, originating the role of Fantine in Les Miserables (Olivier Award) and Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard (Olivier nomination).

An accomplished concert performer, Ms. LuPone has toured around the world with her smash-hit shows, Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda; Matters of the Heart; and The Lady with the Torch. She made a triumphant solo concert debut in Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda, resulting in a sold-out encore performance, and she continues to perform with major symphony orchestras around the country. She also tours in a new concert with her Evita co-star Mandy Patinkin, called An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin.

The Washington Post said, "You don't want to miss it when Patti LuPone throws a party, which is essentially what she did with her concert Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda, less a consideration of what LuPone coulda been than a celebration of the singular stage force she is."

The 8 PM concert takes place at McCarter Theatre, which is located at 91 University Place in Princeton, New Jersey. Tickets, starting at $50, are available by calling (609) 258-2787, or by visiting www.mccarter.org.
