Seacoast Rep and Red Light's SHOWGIRLS: THE ULTIMATE EXPERIENCE Begins Tonight

Seacoast Repertory Theatre and Let's "B" Reel are proud to announce that their award winning Red Light series will be presenting the cult classic Showgirls tonight, August 26th, 2015. For this extra special and interactive screening, audience members are encouraged to dress up in costume (or lack thereof!), quote-a-long with the film, and experience a live pre-show with Bunny Wonderland, Timothy Fife and special guests, Lady Luck Burlesque.

"More people asked me for Showgirls that it go to the point where I finally had to say 'Yeah! Let's do Showgirls!'" says Knate Higgins, special series curator for Seacoast Repertory Theatre. "It's always been one of my favorite "so bad it's great" films. It's a perfect fit for what we can accomplish with this pre-show..."

Showgirls (1995) is a drama (though it watches like a comedy) starring Elizabeth Berkley, Gina Gershon, and Kyle MacLauchlan. Nomi Malone (Berkley) arrives in Las Vegas in hopes of becoming a professional showgirl. She quickly learns that the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas is not always what it is cracked up to be, and she soon turns to stripping. In an u expected turn, stripping leads to Nomi's dreams coming true, with her knocking out anyone who stands in her way to the top. Hated by critics the worldwide, Showgirls soon found a home in midnight movie circuit. To this day, Showgirls is still shown in select theatres around the world for special screenings.

At this screening, LBR is encouraging fans to dress up (or dress down), and quote the night away in true Let's "B" Reel fashion. Lady Luck Burlesque will be on hand for a full live pre-show with Timothy Fife and Bunny Wonderland (Higgins). "People asked for it, and we aim to please!" says Timothy Fife, co-director of LBR. "This pre-show will be hilarious. And, yes. Yes, there will be nudity..."

Let's "B" Reel presents SHOWGIRLS: THE ULTIMATE EXPERIENCE runs one night only Wednesday August 26th at 7:30pm. Bar is open at 6PM. Advance tickets are $10, and day of show tickets are pay what you want. Seating is limited and due to high demand, advance purchase is recommended.
