The Park Theatre will debut its 10th season of presenting free movies to the Monadnock region on Thursday, July 7th. This year, Disney's acclaimed 2015 film Cinderella, starring Cate Blanchett and Downton Abbey's Lily James as Cinderella, will start the festival.

Eleven additional films will make up the 2016 Free Movie Festival season: Silverado (7/14), Ratatouille (7/21), Aliens (7/28), The Manchurian Candidate (8/4), State of The Union (8/11), A Face in the Crowd (8/18), JAWS (8/19), Wag The Dog (8/25), Armageddon (9/10), The Mask of Zorro (10/1) and concluding with The Great Escape (11/12) in honor of Veterans Day.

"Our 10th season has a great mix of classics and new films, comedy and drama as well as films for children and families. Plus, in honor of the return of the Jaffrey Festival of Fireworks on August 20th, we are presenting the classic summer movie of all time, JAWS, on Friday night, August 19th. Additionally, in recognition of the Jaffrey Civic Center's 50th Anniversary Celebration and their "Night of 1,000 Cupcakes," we are presenting the highly praised animated children's film, Ratatouille on July 21st. Over 13,000 people have attended our free movies and other presentations (operas, plays, speakers, concerts) over the past ten years. This year should significantly add to that number and benefit the community immensely," said Steve Jackson, CEO and Managing Director of The Park Theatre.

Ten films will be presented at the Jaffrey Woman's Club located at 33 Main Street in downtown Jaffrey. The other two, Aliens and Armageddon, are presented at La Mia Casa Pizzeria in Peterborough at the GFA Shopping Center. On those nights you can purchase an All-You-Can-Eat Pizza Buffet for only $5.00.

The films in the summer are on Thursdays (JAWS is on Friday, August 19) and begin at 7:00 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The films presented in September through November are on Saturday nights at 7:00 p.m. You can get additional information by going to the theatre's website www.theparktheatre.org or by calling the box office at(603) 532-8888. (JAWS has a suggested donation of $3.00, but is also free.) Walk-ups are always welcome. Popcorn, candy and refreshments can be purchased as well.
