A hit in London during the 1970s, Cole: A musical memoir based on the words and music of Cole Porter, was produced by John McCluggage and his wife Alexandra Urbanowski, both current residents of Manchester, New Hampshire, in California in the 1990s. The clever, funny, romantic musical revue garnered great praise during a year long run in San Francisco. New Hamsphire residents will now have their chance to see Cole when it comes to the Spotlight Café at Concord's Capitol Center for the Arts on June 17 & 18 at 8pm, and June 19, at 2pm. All tickets for these cabaret-style seated performances are $20 and can be purchased at the Capitol Center Box Office, online at www.ccanh.com, and by calling 603-225-1111.

Cole tells the story of Cole Porter, America's greatest songwriter. Full of of music, mirth and mischief, this production is sure to delight audiences of all ages. From his childhood in Peru, Indiana and his early years at Yale, through songs and narrative, revel in Cole's journey from New York to Paris and his triumphant return to Broadway! All the songs you know and love-"Another Opening Another Show", "Night and Day", "I Love Paris", "Anything Goes", and "DeLovely" as well as tunes you never knew came from Porter's creative genius. Featuring a dynamic ensemble of talented singers/actors/dancers with a live band in an intimate cabaret setting, this piece is a delight for all audiences - full of humor, dancing, romance, spectacular piano and soaring vocals.

Director John McCluggage has earned wide critical acclaim and pleased audiences all over the country. During the course of his career, McCluggage has served for sixteen years as Associate Artistic Director at San Jose Repertory Theatre, and directed at St. Louis Repertory Theatre, Children's Musical Theater of San Jose, Studio Arena Theater and Seacoast Repertory Theater (where he won a Spotlight Award for his direction of The Diary of Anne Frank). He is currently an adjunct faculty member of the Conservatory of Theater Arts at Webster University.

Joining McCluggage as Musical Director and Pianist for this production is William Ogmundson, well known throughout New England as a pianist, composer and accompanist. A graduate of the University of New Hampshire, he has soloed numerous times with the New Hampshire Festival Orchestra, and has performed in such diverse locations as the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, the Vatican and other premiere venues in Europe. Aside from his international performance schedule, Ogmundson has composed original music for the NorthEast Shakespeare Ensemble for the past five years, and composed the music for the musical "Pollyanna" which will soon be published by Dramatic Publishing. Ogmundson has also recorded five CD's and currently resides in North Sutton, NH where he teaches privately at Three Oaks Piano Studio.

The cast of Cole includes two NH Theatre Award-winners, Laura Prior (Guys and Dolls 2009) and Marc Willis (The Full Monty), and other talented New England performers, including Jaqueline Chambers, a frequent performer on the stage of Manchester's Palace Theater, and Darcie Champagne, a member of the Peterborough Players.
