STEVEN CARAS: SEE THEM DANCE
Is Named 'BEST TELEVISION FILM of 2012' At
Worldfest-Houston International Film Festival

Documentary by Witek & Novak Had World Premiere Screening in West Palm Beach

Last weekend the documentary STEVEN CARAS: SEE THEM DANCE won the prestigious Grand Remi Award – or "Best of Show" – at the 45th annual Worldfest-Houston International Film Festival, one of the world's oldest and most respected international film festivals.

Created by Witek & Novak of Huntington, WV and presented by Arizona PBS, the award-winning "bio-doc" tells the inspiring story of Steven Caras (www.stevencaras.com), who overcame near impossible odds in following his dream to dance with New York City Ballet, later transforming his career to become one of the leading dance photographers of all time.

At Worldfest-Houston, STEVEN CARAS: SEE THEM DANCE was named Best Television Film of 2012, one of the five top honors awarded by this distinguished international festival.

"Such a poignant film, it moved everyone to tears," declared Festival Director J. Hunter Todd, hailing the documentary as "a superlative work, which is exactly what we honor here."

"We were in competition at the Festival with 4,500 entrants from 22 different countries, so to receive the organization's highest award is very moving," said Steven Caras. "How remarkable that Deborah Novak and John Witek can now stand shoulder-to-should with past Worldfest winners including George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, Spike Lee, the Cohen Brothers and Ang Lee."

"We're absolutely thrilled with winning the prestigious Grand Remi Award," said John Witek. "We worked very hard on this film and it is truly gratifying to be recognized at this internationally respected festival."

STEVEN CARAS: SEE THEM DANCE had its world premiere screening at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach in February 2011, a subsequent screening at The New York Public Library at Lincoln Center in New York City, and has since been broadcast on PBS television stations in South Florida and in other major markets. It will be formally presented to the entire PBS system by Arizona PBS next month and will then be made available to all stations in the public television system, having the rare distinction as being introduced as 'an international award-winning film.'
