Maltz Jupiter Theatre to Host Performing Arts Seminar for Students

The Maltz Jupiter Theatre has just the help you need, with a free seminar open to the public designed to educate local students and their parents about the many ways that a regional theatre can help boost professional performance ambitions.

On Saturday, November 1, Theatre officials will host "Getting the most out of a regional theatre," a free event featuring a panel of industry insiders and an open discussion about how a regional theatre can help those hoping to work in the performing arts. The seminar will take place in The Green Room Club Level Lounge from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

"We want to educate young performers on the many opportunities available for them at our regional theatres," said Andrew Kato, the Theatre's producing artistic director and one of the seminar's panelists. "Many young performers are not taking advantage of all the opportunities available to them that will give them advantages when they go into the professional arena. We want to educate our local students and parents about what regional theatres can do for them."

In addition to Kato, other panelists include Bill Hayes, producing artistic director of Palm Beach Dramaworks; Rodger Hess, Broadway producer of Annie and more; Michele Petrucci, musical theatre dance teacher and choreographer at Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts; John Mercurio, writer/composer and music coach; and Rachel Blavatnik, associate producer and company manager for the Maltz Jupiter Theatre. The event will be moderated by Julie Rowe, director of education for the Maltz Jupiter Theatre Paul and Sandra Golder Conservatory of Performing Arts.
