Bay Street Players Project presents The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge, a comedy by Mark Brown. The show opens Sunday, November 28th for three performances only. This play, which received its world premiere at the Orlando-UCF Shakespeare Festival in 2004, is quickly becoming an international holiday favorite.
The Trial of the Century! Only one year after his miraculous transformation, Ebenezer Scrooge is back to his old ways and is suing Jacob Marley and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future for breaking and entering, slander, pain and suffering, attempted murder and the intentional infliction of emotional distress.Mount Dora resident Pat Ward portrays the penny pinching Scrooge who represents himself. The ghosts employ Solomon Rothschild, England's most savvy and clever barrister played by Joel Warren. Led by Bob Cratchitt, actor Rick Paulin, the familiar characters from Dickens' A Christmas Carol testify on their behalf before the Judge, actor Hank DeLorme, who must decide if the Spirits of Christmas are guilty.Through hilarious twists and turns the trial concludes in a happy surprise ending. Rounding out the cast are Lawrence Benjamin, Rick Breese, Tyler Crane and Brian Flaherty.Videos
