BROWARD COMMUNITY COLLEGE PRESENTS BEDROOM FARCE

Opening night reception, award presentation Oct. 26; show runs through Nov. 5, 2006.

Alan Ayckbourn's comedic play, Bedroom Farce will be presented from October 26 through November 5, on the A. Hugh Adams Central Campus of Broward Community College in Davie, 3501 SW Davie Road, in the Fine Arts Theater. Performances are at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday.

An opening night reception and fundraiser will be held in the Curren Room in Bailey Hall on Central Campus from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. on Oct. 26, at which the first Richard Graham Hinners scholarship will be awarded to a deserving BCC theater student.

According to New York Times critic Walter Goodman, "One of the pleasures of an Alan Ayckbourn play is watching a peculiar situation grow inexorably and often hilariously out of control...a young hostess finds herself trapped under a mound of her guests' overcoats. A man, immobilized with a bad back, has to reach a book that has fallen to the floor. Another is consigned to a bathroom with a copy of 'Tom Brown's Schooldays.'  How Mr. Ayckbourn contrives to get his people into such states and persuade us to believe that they are reasonable is a secret of his comic flair."

Tickets for the reception are $25 and will benefit the Richard Graham Hinners Memorial Scholarship Fund administered by the BCC Foundation.
Tickets for all performances are $10 for the general
public and $5 for students with appropriate identification. For ticket purchase and further information please call the Bailey Hall Box Office at 954-201-6884.
