Sabina Ptasznik, Co-Artistic Director of award-winning LA based theatre company The Vagrancy, has announced that she is stepping down from her position. Co-Founder Caitlin Hart will continue as sole Artistic Director of the not-for-profit company.

Ptasznik states, "My departure from The Vagrancy has become necessary in my life because, although incredibly rewarding, after two years of work as a Co-Artistic Director, my life outside of my artistic pursuits has suffered. Working as a Co-Artistic Director of a small non-for-profit is extremely demanding in Los Angeles, and I am at a point in my life where I need to depart and say hello to some other things. I give The Vagrancy all the positive energy in my heart, leaving behind my benediction. Thank you to everyone who has made my time there so memorable. I am proud of my Vagrants."

Hart adds, "Sabina has been a wonderful partner the past two years and I am very proud of the work we created together. The Vagrancy has begun its next chapter, taking some time to focus on reading new plays as well as developing them with our writers group."

The Vagrancy's 2015 writer's group includes some of Los Angeles's most promising emerging playwrights: Megan Breen (THE DIRT AND THE HARP IN ITS MOUTH, OC Examiner's 2013's Best New Plays of Orange County), Amy Tofte (THE COUNT GOES DOWN, semi-finalist for both the 2014 nuVoices Festival and The Kitchen Dog Theatre's 2014 New Works Festival; RELENTLESS PURSUIT OF A LADY, semi-finalist for Washington, DC's 2013 Source Festival; FLESH EATING TIGER, semi-finalist for the 2013 Princess Grace Playwriting Fellowship), Jesse Shao (STORIES FROM NANJING, John Cauble Short Play National Semi-Finalist), Nahal Navidar (SONGS OF OUR CHILDHOOD, 2014 ReOrient Sneak Peek at Golden Thread Productions) and Cort Brinkerhoff (Independent feature BEYOND THE RYE, premieres in 2015). Their five new plays developed with The Vagrancy will receive fully staged readings with audience talkbacks in BLOSSOMING, a new play reading series.

The Vagrancy is a bold and daring Los Angeles-based theatre company. The Vagrancy creates visceral work that seeks to touch the human spirit. Caitlin Hart, Co-Founder/Artistic Director; Becky Pierce, Managing Director; Cort Brinkerhoff, Literary Manager; Steve Madar, Assistant Literary Manager; Karina Wolfe, Public Relations; Doug Oliphant, Resident Movement Director.
