THE ROAD THEATRE COMPANY and Taylor Gilbert, Founder/Artistic Director together with Sam Anderson, Artistic Director, have announced the fourth and final show of its 2013-2014 and 23rd season of premieres with the West Coast Premiere of FLOWER DUET, written by Maura Campbell and directed by Jeffrey Wienckowski. FLOWER DUET will preview on Saturday, May 31; Tuesday, June 3 & Thursday, June 5 at 8pm and will open on Friday, June 6 at 8pm and run through Saturday, July 26 at the Road Theatre Company's new second home, the Road on Magnolia, located in The NoHo Senior Arts Colony, 10747 Magnolia Blvd. in North Hollywood.

A careless act of infidelity sends the lives of two couples spiraling out of control. FLOWER DUET is a ferocious new comedy that spans 20 years of love, friendship, betrayal and heartbreak in the lives of two passionate opera singers whose relationships prove to be just as dramatic as the music they sing.

MAURA CAMPBELL (Playwright) is a Vermont based playwright where she has developed more than 30 plays that have been produced in New York, Virginia, Texas, California, Vermont and in the UK. Campbell's plays are published by Smith & Kraus, Independent Play(rights)s and YouthPLAYS. Her screenplay Glory River is currently in development. She holds an MFA in Playwriting from Hollins University

JEFFREY WIENCKOWSKI (Director) is a company member, director-in-residence at The Road Theatre Company. He is the founder and Artistic Director of the S.O.B. Theatre Company and The Mechanical Heart and has worked professionally with theatre companies in Los Angeles and San Diego, including The Mark Taper Forum, The Old Globe, La Jolla Playhouse, Independent Shakespeare Company. His production of Waiting for Godot drew wonderful reviews from Los Angeles Times and the LA WEEKLY, who called it "Superb." Jeffrey produced over eleven shows with the S.O.B. Theatre Company including a Vaudeville Musical Version of Oedipus the King, which the LA Times called "Blindingly funny" and the West Coast Premiere of Gao Xingjian's The Other Shore which Backstage hailed as "Spellbinding" and "Intoxicatingly potent," making it a "Critic's Pick." Jeffrey holds an MFA in Directing from UC San Diego where he studied under Les Waters, Christopher Ashley, Gabor Tompa, and Dominique Serrand. His thesis production of The Threepenny Opera was one of the most successful productions in UCSD's history, selling out the La Jolla Playhouse's Potiker theatre every night. The San Diego critics raved that the production was "Big, bawdy and charged . . .In-your-face theatre!" More recently, Jeffrey has directed Gallery Secrets at the Natural History Museum for Chalk Reparatory and the Independent Shakespeare Company's Solemn Mockeries, which the LA Weekly called "Brutally funny and brutally sad."

The cast of FLOWER DUET features: Avery Clyde as Stephanie, Adam Mondschein as Max, Jessica Noboa as Maddie, Patrick Reiger as Sandy and Kara Hume as Daisy.

FLOWER DUET features an award-winning design team. The Sceni Design is by Christopher Scott Murillo. The Lighting Design is by Boris Gortinski. The Costume Design is by Halei Parker. The Sound Design is by David B. Marling.FLOWER DUET is being produced by Zeljka Z Gortinski and Ellie Jameson.
