SWEENEY TODD, opens on September 29 at Garden Grove's historic GEM THEATRE presented by the award-winning One More Productions - one of Southern California's leading musical theater companies.

Just in time for Halloween, an infamous treat, SWEENEY TODD!

An unjustly exiled barber returns home in 19th century London seeking vengeance against the lecherous judge who framed him and ravaged his young wife. The road to revenge leads Todd to Mrs. Lovett, a resourceful proprietress of a failing pie shop, above which he opens a new barber practice.

Mrs. Lovett's luck sharply shifts when Todd's thirst for blood inspires the integration of an ingredient into her meat pies that has the people of London lining up. And the carnage has only just begun!

SWEENEY TODD has become a bloody, worldwide success since being awarded 8 TONYs, including Best Musical. Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler crafted a tasty, thrilling, theatrical treat that has simultaneously shocked, awed, and delighted audiences across the world. This presentation, filled with scary surprises will definitely be a Halloween treat you don't want to miss!

SWEENEY TODD is a musical directed by Damien Lorton with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. The book is by Hugh Wheeler. the show's unique cast of colorful characters includes David Stoneman as Sweeney Todd, Beth Hansen as Mrs. Lovett, Danny Diaz as Tobias, Tom Patrick as Judge Turpin, Bella Gil as Joanna Barker, Erika Baldwin as Beggar Woman/Lucy Barker, Josh Switzer as Anthony, Alex Bodrero as Pirelli and Richard Ullrich as Jonas Fogg. This presentation features music throughout the show by a live 9-piece orchestra.

Performances run from Thursday, September 29 through Sunday, October 23 at the GEM THEATRE. Thursdays - Saturdays, show starts at 8 pm and Sundays, show starts at 2 pm. On Saturday, October 15, there will be an additional 2 pm show.

A question and answer session will follow directly after the performance on Friday, October 7 with some of the lead cast members and production staff.

To kick off this production, a free special preview will be held on Friday, September 16 from 7 pm to 9 pm, at the Gem Theatre, including refreshments, photo ops, bloody makeup demonstration and much more. Please contact nicole@onemoreproductions.com for further information.

General admission tickets are $26 each, $23 for seniors (60 and over), and $18 for children (12 years old and under). In addition, $15 Student Rush Tickets are available for Thursday and Friday performances only. Opening Gala Night Event Tickets for Saturday, October 1, are $40 each and ticket holders receive an exclusive invitation to attend the post-show catered champagne Gala with the cast.
