On June 16 at 6:00 P.M., the Long Beach Playhouse will present the seventh annual Long Beach Playhouse Radio Hour at the offices of Keesal Young and Logan. This truly unique event is a fundraiser for the Playhouse which, at 88 years, is one of the city's oldest arts organizations.

Gazette Executive Editor, Harry Saltzgaver writes a hilarious script, complete with sound effects, witty banter and bad puns. It's performed by the Long Beach Political Players, whom this year are: Mayor Robert Garcia, Suzie Price, Rex Richardson, Marcelle Epley, Shirley Wild, Porter Gilberg, Mari Hooper, Steve Keesal, Mike Murray, Art Levine on sound and Mitchell Nunn as Master of Ceremonies.

Provocative questions for this year's show are: Will Suzie Que (Shirley Wild) help Rex "Hefty" Richardson and Porter "Rusty" Gilberg find the bag of grass they seek? Will a gal named Guy (Suzie Price) discover something that can't be found on Amazon? Will Wayne the chosen son (Steve Keesal) persuade Mom (Mari Hooper) and Dad (Mike Murray) that writing a book about the city's Mayor is a good idea? Will Barb's (Marcelle Epley) angst about Calexit and Trump be assuaged with mellowing mayonnaise? And, above all else, can Mayor Robert Garcia dodge and weave the noises made by Art Levine and guide Long Beach and the 2017 Political Players safely to shore?

One thing is certain: Harry's script will be rousing and provocative and the ad libs fast and furious. Anything can happen!

In addition to the Radio Show, the acclaimed Keesal Young and Logan chef offers a bounty of appetizers to satisfy even the pickiest foodie. On your way to the buffet is KYL's hosted bar and bartender.

This year's show is on a Friday night, which means party! Tickets are $65 a person or $100 a couple. A modest price for the chance to hang out with the city's movers and shakers, eat great food and have a drink on the house. And it takes place in a room with a breathtaking view of the harbor. So grab a date, buy two tickets and join us.

Tickets can be purchased online at LBPlayhouse.org/show/radio-hour-fundraiser/ or by calling the box office at 562.494.1014 ext 1.

RAFFLE PRIZES!

Included in this year's opportunity drawing are day-passes to Disneyland and California Adventure and a VIP package for the Long Beach Grand Prix. Tickets available at the event. 1 ticket for $5 or 5 tickets for $20.

All proceeds support the productions and programs of the Long Beach Playhouse including plays of all types, collaborative productions, comedy nights, guest lecturers, regionally recognized youth and adult education programs and the internationally acclaimed New Works Festival.
