Kaitlyn Baker, JJ Bassette, Kerri Medders to Perform at AMPLYFi, Today
Some of the most exciting up-and-coming young singers in Southern California will share the stage with one Nashville's rising country artists, when Kaitlyn Baker headlines at AMPLYFi in Hollywood on Saturday, May 3.
The 19-year-old Baker from Pound, Virginia, has been called a new "coal miner's daughter." She recently signed a recording contract with Silvercreek Records and will release a new album this summer, through Sony/RED. She is visiting Los Angeles for the first time this weekend.
"I am looking forward to performing at AMPLYFi," she said. "It has a great reputation for emerging artists, and I love the fact that it's one of the few all-ages music venues in LA."
Baker, who will soon tape an episode of the nationally syndicated television concert series "Song of the Mountains," will be backed at AMPLYFi by her manager Scott Arnold on guitar and by LA-based guitarist Brian Schwartz.
Also performing at AMPLYFi on May 3 are the band A Parallel World, pop singer-songwriter Aaron Oswald, and singer-songwriters JJ Bassette and Kerri Medders.
Bassette has been performing on the piano since age 11, and formerly fronted his own band, This Blank World, which recorded two albums before disbanding, when members of the group left for college. Bassette's new band features Alex Flagstad on guitar, Nick Petrou on bass, and Griffin Kisner on drums.
Medders is a 14-year-old singer, songwriter and actress. As a singer, she has performed at venues and events from Texas to California, including the LAPD Children's Day in the Park, Venice Beach, Magic Mountain and Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Over Texas. Her original songs, including "Class is Out" and "A Friend," have been played often on internet radio, landing her on the Top 20 of the Tween Pop radio charts.
AMPLYFi is located at 5617 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles, California 90038, with the main entrance in the alley behind Astro-Burger.
