Bay Area Cabaret presents Grammy-nominated jazz guitarist and vocalist John Pizzarelli and Nightlife Award-winning Broadway singer Jessica Molaskey in the West Coast debut of their latest show, Grownup Songs. The long and committed marriage of this musical pair deepens their onstage performance and brings nuance and a more profound understanding to the music they perform. With songs ranging from Stephen Sondheim to Irving Berlin, Grownup Songs was named one of the year's Ten Best Shows by Time Magazine. Pizzarelli not only sings, but also plays the seven-string guitar through most of the show. And Pizzarelli and Molaskey's approach is to pair unlikely songs in revealing medleys offering distinctive interpretations of covers they sing as well as the performance of their own original material.
