Producers Bruce Robert Harris and Jack W. Batman and The Transfer Group have announced that CARRIE: THE MUSICAL will return to Los Angeles this October at the historic Los Angeles Theatre, direct from its acclaimed run at the La Mirada Theatre this past spring. Directed by Brady Schwind and choreographed by Lee Martino, this immersive staging of CARRIE is the first to take the legendary musical off the stage and put audiences in the middle of the action, back in the rooms and hallways of high school and, of course, with a prime seat at the prom. CARRIE will begin previews on October 1, 2015 and officially open on October 8, 2015.

Based on the novel by Stephen King, CARRIE features a book by Lawrence D. Cohen (screenwriter of the classic film), music by Academy Award winner Michael Gore (Fame, Terms of Endearment), and lyrics by Academy Award winner Dean Pitchford (Fame, Footloose).

"We are absolutely thrilled that theater-goers in Los Angeles will now get the chance to discover Brady Schwind's unique and dynamic vision of our musical CARRIE and its amazing cast," said creators Michael Gore, Dean Pitchford and Lawrence D. Cohen. "In particular, we're excited by this immersive approach that makes the experience so visceral and emotional - and, at the same time, such enormous fun."

"We are overjoyed that our innovative and ground-breaking production of CARRIE will continue to thrill audiences in Los Angeles," said producers Bruce Robert Harris and Jack W. Batman. "We are also very excited to be making the magnificent and historic Los Angeles Theatre our new home and to be playing a small role in bringing new life and first-class entertainment back to downtown Los Angeles, where so many dreams have been born."

"The Transfer Group is excited to team with Tony Award-winning producers, Jack W. Batman and Bruce Robert Harris, on this one-of-kind theatrical event," said Suzan Fairchild, Artistic Producer at The Transfer Group. "As an L.A. based entertainment company, we are doubly thrilled to be part of the initiative to "Bring Broadway Back to Broadway," helping to restore our downtown theater district to its former panache."

Tormented by classmates at school and her bible-thumping mother at home, 17-year-old Carrie White has a mind-bending secret, and no one to share it with. When she's pushed too far, she turns a high school prom into a terrifying display of bullying gone wrong. Audacious, controversial and completely thrilling, CARRIE comes to the Los Angeles Theatre in this blazing one-of-a-kind production, which puts the audience at the center epic tale of torment and revenge.

CARRIE features musical direction by Brian P. Kennedy, musical supervision by Adam Wachter, scenic design by Stephen Gifford, costume design by Adriana Lambarri, lighting design by Brian Gale, sound design by Cricket Myers, illusion design by Jim Steinmeyer, aerial design by Paul Rubin, props design by Terry Hanrahan, hair design by Katie McCoy, and casting by Michael Donovan, CSA. McCoy Rigby Entertainment serves as General Manager. Joe Everett Michaels is Associate Producer.

In January 1931, the Los Angeles Theatre opened its doors after months of development. The opening of the theatre had been planned to coincide with the world premiere of Charlie Chaplin's latest film, City Lights. To ensure that the theatre would open in time, Chaplin ended up investing some of his own money into the project, linking the theatre to his legacy and to the city's rich cultural history. CARRIE will be the first full scale musical to play the Los Angeles Theatre in its 84-year history.

Tickets for CARRIE go on-sale August 1, 2015. Full cast will be announced shortly.
