Greenway Arts Alliance presents a 70th Anniversary production of one of the greatest plays of all time, THE GLASS MENAGERIE, by Tennessee Williams and directed by Jack Heller. This production reunites The Actor's Studio's Brian Foyster and Jack Heller for their first Tennessee Williams play since the critically-acclaimed, The Lost Plays of Tennessee Williams. THE GLASS MENAGERIE will begin previews tonight, May 8 at 8:00pm and will open on Saturday, May 16 at 8pm and run through Sunday, June 14 at the Greenway Court Theatre, 544 North Fairfax Avenue in Hollywood.

Set in the Great Depression on the brink of WWII, THE GLASS MENAGERIE tells the gripping story of The Wingfield family. The mother Amanda, a remnant of her gentile, southern past, fights to prepare her fragile daughter and restless son for the harsh world that awaits them. A former classmate of the siblings comes into their home for a brief, magical evening that will alter their lives forever.

Gritty, poetic, and occasionally hilarious, THE GLASS MENAGERIE was Tennessee Williams' first major hit and remains to this day one of the greatest dramas in history. The Greenway Court Theater is proud to present the 70th Anniversary production of Williams' masterpiece. Be sure to experience this revealing, new take on this American classic.

ABOUT THE CREATIVE TEAM AND CAST:

JACK HELLER (Director) directed The Rainmaker and after almost a year's run won an L.A. Times Critics Choice and an L.A. Stage Scenie Award for Best Production of the Year as well as the BroadwayWorld.com Ebbon Award for Best Production of the Year. He was artistic director of the Laurelgrove Theatre Co. where his theatre received four ovation nominations in the first three seasons. He has directed more than 60 productions in the U.S. and Canada as well as several episodes of "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman". He worked 2 1/2 years at Beit Shuva a halfway house for addicts using theatre techniques to aid in their recovery. He produced, directed and acted in The Lost Plays of Tennessee Williams where he won best actor as well as best ensemble for the LA Weekly Awards. As an actor he was in the long, long run of Tamara and played Tennessee Williams in the Critics' Choice production of Tennessee In The Summer. He has guest-starred in many TV programs and has appeared in Henry Jaglom's movies "Just 45 Minutes From Broadway" and "Queen of the Lot." Besides doing Luv and One By One on Broadway. he won a Drama-logue award for a one man show called Dr. Galley and is a lifetime member of the Actors Studio.

LISA RICHARDS (Amanda) appeared this past fall in an award winning performance as "Mama" in 'Night Mother. This winter, she played "Madam Yoda" in Good In Bed. Los Angeles audiences have also seen her in To Quiet The Quiet directed by Barbara Bain, On Holy Ground (Met Theatre), The Bewildered Herd, Good Bobby, Bad Hurt on Cedar Street, and All Good Soldiers in The West Wind, (Greenway Court Theatre) "Penny" in You Can't Take it With You (Geffen Playhouse) A California Seagull - "Arcadina" (Cornerstone Theater Company). This is Lisa's third Tennessee Williams' play. She played "Heavenly" in Sweet Bird of Youth on Broadway with Irene Worth and Chris Walken, and "Jesse Sykes " in A House Not Meant To Stand (Fountain Theatre). Other theatre credits include Buried Child and Lay of the Land (Pittsburgh), Death of A Salesman - "Linda" (Paper Mill Playhouse), "Alice" in Eve Ensler's Lemonade at the Alley Theatre in Houston. Her films include "Rolling Thunder" and "Eating." She starred as Sabrina in "Dark Shadows" and Susan Barry in "One Life To Live," and Aunt Maureen on "Hart Of Dixie."

BRIAN FOYSTER (Tom) Theater credits include Sydney Bruhl in Deathtrap (LA Weekly Theater Award, Revival Production of the Year) and Mr. Delaney in The Lost Plays of Tennessee Williams (LA Weekly Theater Award, One-Act Ensemble). New York theater: Terminal Bar with Frances McDormand and Cherry Jones; Heavy Breathing with James Gandolfini, and Rasputin directed by Paul Newman. Brian received a BFA in Acting from SUNY Purchase. He is a member of The Actors Studio and serves on its Board of Directors.

KERRY KNUPPE (Laura) was born in Hot Springs, South Dakota. She is known for her breakout role of Lucy in the SXSW audience favorite "Skills Like This". She has continued to work in independent film with lead roles in such pictures as "Home, James," "Like a Country Song" and "1982". This will mark her debut at The Greenway Court Theatre. She is a lifetime member at the Actor's Studio.

The Cast of THE GLASS MENAGERIE will also feature: Patrick Joseph Rieger & David Stanbra (alternating in the role of Jim).

THE GLASS MENAGERIE has assembled an award-winning design team. Set Design is by Joel Daavid. Costume design is by Monica French. Lighting Design is by Jeffrey Porter. Sound Design is by Jack Heller. Props Design is by Phi Tran.

THE GLASS MENAGERIE is stage-managed by Thomas Zoeschg. THE GLASS MENAGERIE is produced by Ty Donaldson.

THE GLASS MENAGERIE will preview on Friday, May 8 & Saturday, May 9 at 8pm; Sunday, May 10 at 7pm; Friday, May 15 at 8pm and will open on Saturday, May 16 at 8pm and run through Sunday, June 14 at the Greenway Court Theatre, 544 N. Fairfax Ave. in Hollywood. Performances for THE GLASS MENAGERIE are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm & Sundays at 7pm. Ticket prices are $25.00. Preview Tickets are $18.00.
