Conundrum Theatre Company premieres the musical classic, FUNNY GIRL at The Colony in Burbank for an extended run of performances from October 29th - November 20th, 2016. Conundrum's inaugural fully staged musical production of Funny Girl is also a joint partnership with the Friends of the Rialto in Pasadena to help restore their historic 90-year old theatre.

In this Los Angeles revival, follow Fanny Brice, the role made famous by Barbra Streisand, on her rise to fame and fortune, and her tumultuous marriage to Nick Arnstein with re-envisioned sets, costumes, staging, lighting design, and choreography. Through the flashbacks of Fanny Brice, Conundrum illuminates the world of theatre by engaging all elements of the stage.

With Funny Girl, Conundrum hopes to perform and and showcase the musical in a new and modern way that's never been done before. Bryan Snodgrass, the director for Funny Girl states that, "while it's called "Funny Girl", there's a lot of drama in one piece. We're able to focus on the heart of the show in a unique way in order to allow the audience to connect to Fanny and the highs and lows of her life. It's a classical musical that is able to shine for a whole new audience and generation."

Jule Styne and Bob Merrill's classic and memorable songs, "People", Don't Rain on My Parade" and "Sadie, Sadie" come to life under the musical direction of Ryan Luevano, "My goal with preparing the music for our production of Funny Girl is threefold: to enliven Styne's juicy and classic songs; to emphasize drama and purposefulness of these songs in the context of the dramatic action; and finally to make a score feel like a backstage musical that goes back and forth between past and present. For this production I have assembled a 14-piece orchestra that sizzles when they play these brilliant original 1960's orchestrations--razzle-dazzle and heartfelt to the max."
