California International Theatre Festival announces its 2011 season. The festival features Joe Peracchio as Festival Director, and Tammy Taylor as Executive Producer.

The Festival will take place in several locations in Calabasas, Downtown Los Angeles and Ventura and will include distinguished international productions.

The 2011 season will feature the U.S. premieres of Komitas' 10 Commandments & Colors by MIHR Theatre from Armenia; The Cure of Everything by Contrary Company from Canada; and Roadway Closed To Pedestrians (Chaussée Interdite aux Piétons) by Macadâmes Theatre Corporal from France. As well as Scenario: For A Non-Existent, But Possible, Instrumental Actor by Evoe Performing Artists from Germany; How We Got On - a staged reading of the 2011 Eugene O'Neil Playwright's Prize Winning play by HBO Def Poet and renowned hip-hop playwright Idris Goodwin; Concert Under the Stars with Marjana Sadowska from Ukraine; ¡Gaytino!, written and performed by Dan Guerrero; Café Burlesqu-O!, a racy speakeasy of fiery street poetry, burlesque sketches, and musical numbers; The world premiere of El Canguro (The Kangaroo), a rainforest opera in concert, written by Cynthia Lewis Ferrell and composed by Peter Michael von der Nahmer; The Global Stage: The Theatre Movement in a Post 9/11 World - a panel discussion with international and American artists, scholars, politicians, and celebrities to be held on September 11th, 2011 (the 10th anniversary of 9/11.)
