As we come to the beginning of April here on the California Central Coast, I trust your plans include availing yourself of at least a couple of the several theatrical offerings that are being presented for your viewing pleasure (or shortly will be) at any number of the live theatre and performance venues here on the Central Coast!

Kelrik Productions' (www.kelrikproductions.com) next show, Pinkalicious, will run through April 17 [NOTE: saw the opening matinee of this production - FUN show, and definitely one to take the kids to!].

Pinkalicious, the Musical began in January, 2007 as an original production created for the Family Programming series of New York City's Vital Theatre Company.  After a sold-out run, it moved through a series of ever larger performance venues where it has continued to delight audiences and critics alike.  Four year later, Pinkalicious is still playing in New York City and in critically acclaimed productions in Toronto, London, Chicago, and Los Angeles, among other venues.

Based on the 2006 New York Times best-selling children's book by Victoria and Elizabeth Kann, Pinkalicious is the tale of a girl who can't stop eating pink cupcakes despite her parents' warnings about the dangers of over-indulgence.  Her passion for pink lands her at the doctor's office with pinkititis, an affliction that turns her pink from head to toe - a dream come true for this pink-loving enthusiast.  But when her hue goes too far, only Pinkalicious can figure a way out of her predicament.

When Kelrik Artistic Director Erik Austin saw the musical last summer in Chicago, he knew he had to bring it to the Central Coast.  According to Austin, "Pinkalicious is not just a really funny musical, it teaches children valuable lessons about self control and the importance of moderation.  As someone who has been passionate about theatre since I was a kid, I am thrilled that we can offer the Central Coast premiere of this new show in a fully realized stage production.  It's a great opportunity to introduce young people to the magic of live theatre.  You can't ask for more than that."

Pinkalicious will be directed and choreographed by Kelrik Artistic Director Erik Austin and musically directed by Stephen Tosh.  The  cast  includes Ashlin Hatch and Dasha Novotny in the title role, Spencer Doyle and Jayce Garcia as Peter, Lacey McNamara and John Adams play  Mr. & Mrs. Pinkerton, with Matthew Ambrose as Dr. Wink, and Rebecca Canfield as Alison.  The cast is  completed with a fun group of upcoming young stars portraying Birds, Bees  and Butterflies.
