The John W. Engeman Theater kicked off their holiday show, A Christmas Carol - A Ghost Story of Christmas, just as Hurricane Sandy stormed across the area. One of the shows underlying themes is that Christmastime is a time of kindness and charity, so the owners of the John W. Engeman Theater have decided to raise money to help in the Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.

After each performance of A Christmas Carol - A Ghost Story of Christmas, the John W. Engeman Theater will be collecting donations for the American Red Cross to help with Hurricane Sandy recovery. Since the show's rescheduled opening of Tuesday, November 20th, delayed by the Hurricane, the theater has collected $10,000 and hopes to reach at least $30,000 by the shows closing on January 6.

"All of us on Long Island felt the impact of Hurricane Sandy at some level. Thousands of families have been devastated with losses. We are proud to support the American Red Cross in its efforts to provide relief to the Long Island Community," said Kevin J. O'Neill Managing Director and Co-Owner of the John W. Engeman Theater at Northport.
