Six time Grammy award winner, Roberta Flack, is coming to the St. George Theatre on Saturday, January 12, 2013 to perform songs from her latest release, Let It Be Roberta, an interpretive album of classic hits from The Beatles.

In 1972, The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face won Roberta Flack her first Grammy for Record of the Year and her 1973 duet with Donna Hathaway, Where Is The Love, was rewarded with Best Pop Vocal Performance By A Duet. In 1974, Flack won the award for Favorite Soul/R&B Female Artist with hit single, Killing Me Softly With His Words at the American Music Awards, also winning two Grammys including Record of the Year.

Roberta Flack transitioned from singer/songwriter to humanitarian after founding the Roberta Flack School of Music in Bronx, New York. The school provides underprivileged children a unique musical education experience, which is free of charge to all kids attending. Flack has been performing with the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, D.C. and in 2009, was inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame.
