The Merrick Theatre and Center for the Arts, in association with Off Sides Entertainment, Inc., proudly presents the world premiere of DEIRDRE, a new musical, written by Long Island writers Michael P. Deirdre is an ancient and epic story of love and obsession, of mystical druids and ominous prophecies, retold for the modern age in this sweeping, Celtic-inspired musical by Michael P. McCarthy and Rich Buley-Neumar, Long Island-based writers. After two developmental readings and years of devoted crafting, this brand new musical will have its first fully staged production at Merrick Theatre and Center for the Arts, ringing in the New Year with the clash of swords. It is the tale of Deirdre, a woman whose beauty brings about the downfall of kings and kingdoms, and of the two men fated to pursue her, in one of history's first love triangles.

Deirdre opens Saturday, January 31 and runs for 11 performances through February 22, 2015, at the Merrick Theatre and Center for the arts, Merrick, Long Island. Performances are Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 pm and Sunday matinees at 3:00 pm. Tickets are $21, and can be purchased by calling the box office at (516) 868-6400.
