Broadway Concert Series and Steinway Meets Broadway Rescheduled for 1/11 & 12 at The John W. Engeman Theater

The John W. Engeman Theater at Northport announces its next special event in their ongoing Broadway Concert Series on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 8 PM. Originally scheduled for November 2012 the concerts were moved to January due to Hurricane Sandy.

Produced exclusively for the John W. Engeman Theater by New York Casting Director Stephen DeAngelis, five of New York's finest performers will recreate some of their most memorable career highlights and sharing amusing behind-the-scenes anecdotes.

Performers scheduled to appear include Chester Gregory (Sister Act; Cry-Baby; Tarzan; Hairspray), Tari Kelly (Anything Goes; Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas; The Boy from Oz; Show Boat), Caissie Levy (Ghost The Musical; Hair; Wicked; Hairspray), Jessica Phillips (Leap of Faith; Priscilla Queen of the Desert; Next to Normal; Jesus Christ Superstar; The Scarlet Pimpernel) and Rashidra Scott (Sister Act; Finian's Rainbow; Hair; Avenue Q). Musical Director/Accompanist for the evening will be Eugene Gwozdz.

The John W. Engeman Theater at Northport in partnership with the Steinway Used Piano Gallery of Long Island also announces a very special event, Steinway Meets Broadway on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 8 PM.

Featuring a Mix of Steinway & SONY Concert Pianists and four of New York's finest Broadway Performers displaying their great versatility and featuring songs ranging from Pop and Classical to Broadway Show Tunes.

Broadway performers scheduled to appear include Moya Angela (Ghost: The Musical; The Lion King; Dreamgirls), two-time Tony Award nominee and Drama Desk Award winner and four-time Drama Desk Award nominee Christopher Fitzgerald (Finian's Rainbow; The Merchant of Venice; Young Frankenstein; Wicked; Amour), Mamie Parris (Ragtime; 110 in the Shade; The Drowsy Chaperone, Wicked); Wade Preston (Movin' Out). There will also be a special appearance by Steinway Concert Artist Evelyn Ulex who will be joined by SONY recording artist Barry Tognolini. Musical Director/Accompanist for the Broadway portion of the evening will be Eugene Gwozdz.
